Celtic’s youth team face Motherwell tomorrow knowing that a win will clinch the title for the second year running.

All roads lead to Bathgate for the 11am kick-off with the young hoops looking to put the title beyond Hearts.

Five wins on the bounce away from, against Kilmarnock, Hamilton, Rangers, St Mirren and Inverness have taken Celtic two points clear of Hearts who beat Rangers 1-0 today at Riccarton.

A draw or Rangers win today would have given Celtic the title but coach Stevie Frail has concentrated his players minds on beating Motherwell.

“We’ve prepared for our match regardless of the result today,” Frail said. “Obviously if Rangers had got a draw or a win we’d be champions but that wasn’t the case and we have prepared to go to Motherwell and win it.

“It’s always been in our hands and we’ll deal with the match tomorrow. We’ve worked on preparing everything for the Motherwell match in mind.”

A draw would leave Celtic three points and 30 goals better off than Hearts before the top two face each other other next Saturday.

Like any Celtic side the u-19s don’t play to draw with Frail’s side looking to take the title in style.

“It will be a tremendous achievement if we win the title,” the hoops coach added. “There’s been a lot of away games in a short time to finish the season and they’ve handled every challenge.

“The players know the prize, we don’t hide that from them, they know the target tomorrow and also want to keep their winning run going.

“They’ve had some fantastic results and can finish the season on a real high over the next week.

“All of them can be proud of their efforts, they all strive hard game by game and that has taken us into a strong position.”
