Double blow for Biram Kayal

|

Biram Kayal Celtic newsBiram Kayal is facing up to the double blow of having his season ended for club and country.

A late crude challenge from Ross Tokely as he shot for goal against Inverness Caley Thistle on Wednesday night sent the midfielder crashing to the ground- and his hopes of glory.

Kayal will have his right wrist operated on today and also suffered concussion from Tokely’s challenge.

After spending a night in Inverness the midfielder is waiting to find out exactly how long he’ll be out of action for.

I went to the hospital to get X-rays and the results have shown that I require surgery in the morning,” he explained. “Once the operation is over, I will know exactly how long I will be out for.”

That verdict came as bad news to Israel as well as Celtic.

Kayal has been a crucial part of Luis Fernandez’s Euro 2012 push with the French boss devastated by the news that he’ll be without the Celtic star for the end of season qualifier against Latvia.

Fernandez said: “This is a disaster for us, every day we seem to suffer another injury.

“I hope he makes a speedy recovery.”
