Shunsuke NakamuraAfter reading the Bobby Petta interview on this site, I started thinking about the 6-2 game and what must have been Bobby’s finest moment in a hoops shirt.

Over the years there have been some amazing highs, and some terrible lows, when supporting Celtic. Maybe some day, I will write about the lows but I think I’d rather not just now.

To start with Petta, he never had a very good first season after been signed by John Barnes, although very few players did have a good season under Barnes. When Martin O’Neill came in, his form certainly improved.

Thinking back to that 6-2 game, I remember going to Parkhead with more hope than expectation, from the start Petta was excellent, he tormented Fernando Ricksen along with everyone else in a Rangers shirt who dared to go near him. If memory serves me correctly, I think that was my mate Boab’s first derby match – the guy must be a good luck charm.

Did Petta have a better performance in a Celtic shirt? I’m not sure he did although other folk with a better memory than me may be able to say otherwise.

So what’s your memories of Celtic players and their best performances/ goals/ moments? Despite the result, is it Henrik Larsson’s performance against Porto in Seville. That has to be one of the best that we’ve saw from one player? Or what about Larssons goal in the 5-1 game v Rangers when he put the ball through big Colin Hendry’s legs or in the 6-2 match when he chipped Stefan Klos?

David Marshall Celtic newsAway from home, David Marshall made save after save after save after save . . . . . at the Nou Camp? That was the return leg from when Alan Thompson scored v Barcelona at Parkhead and we knocked them out of the UEFA Cup.

The previous year when John Hartson scored his long range goal v Liverpool was something special. Did big bad John have a better or more important goal for us? That game was the furthest I had ever saw us go in a European competition which is probably why it stands out for me.

Shunsuke Nakamura was a player that gave us some quite spectacular goals too. I’m split between my favourite Naka goals but the three stand outs were his long range shot v Rangers at Parkhead when we won 2-1 and the free kick v Man Utd in the Champions league.

My third Naka moment was another free kick, this time against Kilmarnock to clinch the league in 2007 at Rugby Park. A Killie pie and a league win, what a day that was.

Now, how can I mention Nakamura without talking about Lubo Moravcik? I can’t.

Against Hearts, a high ball dropped down and Lubo controlled the ball, trapped it, and stopped it stone dead. Not with his feet though, he used his backside, what a guy ! ! !

You can count any number of goals Lubo as being special as there were so many. I think it was v St Johnstone when Lubo scored from pretty close to the corner flag with a whipped in shot that lobbed the keeper?

I could go on and write for hours here but I doubt very many people would continue to read so I wont but what are your most treasured moments from a Celtic player? It doesn’t even have to be on the pitch, maybe you’ve met some players or heard some funny stories about certain individuals connected to our club?

Boaby had a great game against the cream buns but you’ll struggle to beat his performance against Ajax in the Amsterdam ArenA
