Vladimir Romanov Hearts newsHearts chief Vladimir Romanov has launched a staggering attack on the SFA and described match officials as slaves.

The outspoken Lithuanian has never been shy about attacking the football authorities and seems to be immune from SFA sanctions.

Last week’s AGM of the SFA was welcomed by most as a new dawn for the game but the Tynecastle owner is furious over his side’s £100,000 fine after picking up six red and 91 yellow cards last season.

Romanov said: “If with this fine they want to camouflage all their unjustified decisions against Hearts throughout the season, then it is a normal practice for them – since it happens for the seventh year in a row.

“For me, everything became evident some time ago after that infamous match against Dundee when three Hearts players were red carded and three penalties were awarded against us.

“I am even grateful to the referee of that game for his eye-opening actions. That case revealed the true faces of the people devoid of brain and conscience.

“Unfortunately, the match officials still remain their slaves while I had so much hoped that starting during this past season they were going to be set free.”

Last week former Hearts director Campbell Ogilvie was appointed President of the SFA.
