US President Barack Obama has turned to Neil Lennon during a speech to the nation about the reduction in troop numbers from Afghanistan.
In a clear throwback to the Celtic bosses speech after the final SPL match of the season President Obama told the nation: “Of course huge challenges remain- this is the beginning but not the end of our efforts to wind down this war.”
Obama intends to withdraw 33,000 troops from Afghanistan by September 2012 as part of a phased withdrawl after more than a decade in Afghanistan.
Addressing the Celtic support just days after being attacked at Tynecastle Lennon said; ” We as a club this season have nothing to reproach for, whether it be the board, the supporters or the players. They have dealt with a lot of issues with great dignity
“This isn´t the end- this is just the beginning.”
that’s an expression… he didn’t copy lennon… ffs
celtic croatia,,i think you better take a chill pill,, im sure it was intended as light hearted humour..ffs.. calm down mate…YNWA
Celtic Croatia is a genius. I’m sure whoever wrote this light-hearted piece genuinely thought that the us president quoted Neil Lennon.
Celtic croatia.
Tongue in cheek.
This is also an expression… feel free to use it.. you wont be copying anyone.
Sure and did I not see him in The Dublin Bookshop buying a Neil Lennon biography in preparation for this speach
Celtic Croatia,
You don’t say! Next thing you’ll be telling us all that Martin Luther King didn’t travel forward in a time machine to steal his famous ‘I Have A Dream’ quote from the Scotland ’82 World Cup song sung by John Gordon Sinclair!
I know it’s just a bit of fun but please don’t sully Lennon’s good name by associating it with this war mongering liar.
Ha Ha Ha, i heard Obama make this quote and thought of our very own inspirational, against all odds leader also.
HAIL HAIL
Good old Barack, a couple of pints o the good stuff & the Celtic Genes come blossoming forth.
President Obama then followed it up with his own stirring rendition of “Oh the Rangers are Shyte”
I just cant get enough.
Just proves the impact Neil Lennon and Celtic Football Club have on the greater good of the world. Hail Hail!
Quoted by the president of the USA, does it get any better than that? Neil Lennon is one of the greatest living men on the planet.
Has any other manager in world football been quoted by the US president? Not that I recall, it’s truly inspirational to know Obama sees a bit of himself in Neil Lennon, he is a hero beyond football, god bless Lenny and Obama.
Just goes to show how far the Lennon revolution has reached. He is now a global hero! Keep fighting the good fight Lenny, Hail Hail!
