Efrain Juarez Celtic newsEfrain Juarez has revealed that Javier Aguirre was the driving force behind his loan move to Real Zaragoza.

The finishing touches to a season long loan were completed yesterday with the midfielder delighted to team up again with his former international boss.

Juarez and Aguirre last worked together during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa when Mexico lost out 3-1 to Argentina for a place in the quarter finals.

Sven Goran Eriksson had started the campaign as Mexico boss but after a disastrous start Aguirre was drafted in and led the team to qualification.

Aguirre is vastly experienced having enjoyed two spells in charge of the national side and also having spells in charge of Athletico Madrid and Athletico Osasuna.

“When I heard that Javier Aguirre was here I didn’t hesitate,” Juarez admitted despite Zaragoza being in administration. “I’m very excited to be here and pleased that everything has been finalised.

“Although things haven’t been going well for the club everyone is working hard. Playing football is the most important thing for me and I’m excited about joining this league.”
