Murray Davidson Rangers newsSt Johnstone boss Derek McInnes has slammed Rangers bid for Murray Davidson as ridiculous.

The Ibrox club put in a bid for the midfielder, believed to be in the region of £150,000 with the same amount again in add-ons, but found it immediately rejected by St Johnstone.

Davidson played in today’s goal-less draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie but after the match McInnes admitted that he was shocked by the bid that came in from his old club

“I had to look twice at the offer,” the St Johnstone manager revealed. “It’s way short of our valuation.

“Two days before the kick off, the bid is not welcome. If they come back, they should play the game and not be so ridiculous with their offer.”

McInnes added: “People asked if I was contemplating not playing Murray and I said ‘never in a million years’.

“The boy is so quietly confident and assured. He’s a real competitor and I thought he was outstanding again today.

“His move will come, whether it’s this window, the next one, whenever, because he’s too good a player.”
