Former Porto manager Jose Mourinho is facing the sack from Real Madrid.
Wednesday night’s Spanish Super Cup defeat from Barcelona in the Nou Camp ended in a brawl with Mourinho caught on camera pressing his fingers into the face of Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova.
Mourinho has had a long running dispute with Barca where he is known as the interpreter after a spell in the Catalan capital working with Bobby Robson.
Wednesday night’s game kicked off at 11pm local time with the incidents from the game shown around the world with one clip from You Tube being viewed over 800,000 times in under 24 hours.
Influential elements in the Real boardroom have grown tired of their manager’s behaviour with the scenes from the Nou Camp earlier this week ready to force the issue.
Immediately after the match Barcelona defender Gerard Pique warned: “Mourinho is destroying Spanish football.
“They are working under the orders of someone who will ruin our game unless something is done about him.
“This has got completely out of order and their actions are well beyond the limit of what is acceptable. It’s going too far and one day it will end very badly.”
Gerards’s team mate Xavi said: “The way Madrid acted was lamentable and pathetic. They kicked us off the pitch and looked to cause fights and eventually Marcelo was sent off for a criminal tackle intended to do damage.
“Pepe was just as bad. Not only do they escape punishment most of the time, they keep on protesting when justice is done by the referee. It is shameful.”
Real lost 3-2 to Barcelona and also lost out to their rivals in last season’s La Liga and Champions League.

Nobody is surprised by his carry on. He showed himself for what he is when managing Porto against Celtic by getting his players to lie down and stay down ‘injured’ time after time as the game ran out against ten men.
He cheats blatantly and arrogantly – with the full support of the English media who rejoice in his ‘special one’ nomenclature. He’s not all that as a manager for me, and a pathetic, cheating, cowardly excuse for a man as his actions here clearly show.
