Ki Sung Yeung Celtic news Ki Sung Yeung is still hopeful of progressing into the knock-out phase of the Europa League despite the disappointment of losing 2-0 away to Atletico Madrid.

The Korean midfielder came close to equalising early in the second half when a 30 yard drive was touched over the bar by Thibaut Courtois in the Atletico goal.

Udinese visit Celtic at the end of the month with Ki hoping that a home win can be the springboard to launch Celtic’s Europa League campaign.

He said: “The games are not going to be easy and we must play against more very strong teams. We are going to try our best. I am especially looking forward to playing at Celtic Park against Udinese

“It’s always hard when you are playing away from home. We gave away an easy goal in the first half but despite that, we did well after the break.

“We generally played well but we have to work on little things in our game and we need to stop giving cheap goals away.

“Atlético are a good side and I like Spanish football the teams can play and pass the ball well. They were a better team than us tonight which was reflected in the score but hopefully we can qualify from the group.”
