SFA silence as Hearts and Rangers head for court again

|

Stewart Regan Celtic newsWhile Scottish football stands on the brink of financial collapse SFA Chief Executive Stewart Regan is burying his head in the sand.

Stories about the financial meltdown at Hearts and Rangers are emerging on a daily basis with the SFA and SPL providing supporters and financially responsible clubs with no public guidance.

Rather than spelling out the consequences to a club that refuses to pay wages or one whose owner discusses administration as ‘a regrettable event in our history I don’t think it would be as bad people think it might be,’ Regan has had nothing to say in public since a tweet yesterday morning about: “First of regional roadshows tonight to present Scottish FA strategy to key stakeholders. Par Hotel, Kilmarnock. #li“.

As the SFA waken up for business this morning they’ll be greeted with news of further court action against Rangers and Hearts whilst most of their other member clubs cut their cloth and attempt to live within their means.

Should the actions facing Rangers and Hearts see both clubs go into liquidation what will the SFA and SPL do with a ten club division and a host of 3-0 results just like this season’s Europa League results between Sion and Celtic?

An SFA statement could hardly be seen as scaremongering with both clubs facing fresh court action over the next few days.

First up is a winding-up case against Heart of Midlothian by Paul Johnston in front of Lord Hodge who has previously ruled on actions by Martin Bain and Donald McIntyre against Rangers.

The Ibrox club face another court action on Monday when Jersey-based Capita Trustee Services pursue a debt for unpaid fees.

While the SFA and SPL have a duty to provide support and help for member clubs they have a wider responsibility to the body of clubs cutting costs and honouring players wages.

Over the last few years the League Cup and Scottish Cup have lost commercial sponsors and are now being backed by the Scottish Government.

With threats hanging over the existance of two major clubs it’s only natural that Sky Sports and ESPN will be reviewing their commitments to Scottish football.

If either of those broadcasters decides against renewing or cancelling their contracts it’ll take much more than a roadshow of a strategy plan to rescue Scottish football.

The sheer desperation of the celtic support for a big helping hand to stop Rangers advance to 4IAR is getting very obvious.

Anyone not seeking to save face from another season grovelling at the feet of the Champions would realise that Scottish Football NEEDS a strong Rangers, and a strong Hearts for that matter.

The idea that a massive punishment is somehow needed “for the good of the game”, to prevent football clubs from queuing up to jump at the inticing possibility of a 10 point penalty is absurd.

The only two major sources of revenue in our game: TV and Gate receipts – are both reliant on the biggest clubs being healthy – no one bigger than Rangers Football Club.

    4IAR cannot be stopped.

It’s not about a 10 point penalty JJ, it’s whether you will even be able to complete the season. Ain’t just the SFA with its head in the sand….

    • Lubo's feet says:

Frankly I dont care if you win this insignificant league every single year from now until the final days of the planet.

What I do mind is the fact that Rangers have knowingly duped the authorities and cheated with regards to non payment of taxes.

Players were bought with no thought to the future implications. You are a pathetic little man who lacks any semblance of self esteem and lives his life through an archaic bigoted organization. Grovelling indeed.

You will be when your whole house of cards comes tumbling down!!! Good riddance.

  • mick says:

I think the SFA should have spoken a long time ago the horse has bolted RFC has used tax money for years to biuld a team the sfa agreed with this or they would not have been in euro football.

It should be mr d murray not Sir , Hearts have had more big fines from the SFA than any other club.

Now RFC has talked of admin and the SFA say nothing so if you look hard enough you can see how Scottish football is the way it is.

If Rangers was kept from Europe while in trouble with tax man nearly all SPL teams would have got a lot of money from this so the SFA helping Rangers all these years has brought about the state of the game now to many hidden problems

Scottish football will be well rid of this collection of cheats crooks and bigots, both the full fat and diet *uns.

The idea that we need rankers is ludicrous, as is the notion that no one is bigger than “sell the medals”FC., who now have no line of credit, have huge debts that they can’t pay and are facing administration at the very least.

Yet the rankers “fans” cannot get their heads out of the sand.

They are not needed, not wanted and almost universally despised both at home and abroad.

Hell mend them and Good Riddance.

    KARMA!

  • Stevie says:

JJ I would personally give up this seasons league title to see Rangers heavily punished, I don’t believe Celtic fc need sky espn money to survive.

If Rangers are not punished the cheating will continue and another few clubs might jump onboard.

I would love to play in a league where Celtic are treated fairly and honestly by the SFA and the referees, there’s been far to much cheating to help Rangers this past few seasons.

The SFA still require a clear out, let’s get some honesty and accountability into our game and hopefully the honest mistake days are long gone.

The situation with Rangers would never have happened with an honest and strong SFA.

Everything ranjurs have won for over a decade has been won, not only by stolen money, but by money stolen from the Queen, Ranjurs and their infamous support ironically declare undying loyalty to.

Maybe if the rest of the SPL teams stopped paying their rightful taxes, we would have a level playing field. I’m sure that would do Scottish football the world of good, or are ranjurs and their vile support above the law in Scotland, as usual!

Ranjurs, Scotlands Shame, on the pitch, on the terraces, in the street, in the boardroom and in the courts, as usual!

    • Ciaran says:

Good post. No clubs paying tax. That’s a brilliant idea. I wonder would it work? Or is it just 2 clubs that get away with it?

  • celtic ed says:

a good chance to sign hearts goalkeeper and john sutton on free transfers, loose less goals score more goals

  • seaney67 says:

Should the whole rotten house collaspe (SPL) it can only be to the benefit of Celtic FC.

For as far as fans can remember those with control of the game have been tripping over themselves to assist the orc’s and hamper Celtic . And I’ve no sympathy for other clubs that are in the black but will be affected anyway.

They’ve shown where there loyalties are when it comes to disiplinary committies. Club votes, blantant refferee bias, TV deals, league structure.

And by definition the’re parasites using my club and 1 or 2 others in league and cup matches to be able to provide football for numbers that would make the English League 2 laugh. Slap it up them.

As for the cheats and eastern European direct debit dodgers… may your demise be slow and painful

What humps me more than anything is….
the lack of apology/ humility/ ( or any other word that you care to use ) from the Peepul.

Their arrogance is matched only by their ignorance.

The first post on here is symptomatic of their…
    “No one likes us…we don’t care” attitude…..

No mention of how by tax-avoidance they possibly deprived a soldier or three in Afghanistan of badly needed equipment….

Or of how their undying loyalty to the Queen has been ridiculed by the Club’s disgraceful behaviour…..

Not to mention the tarnished trophies gained by cheating…..Honestly ( now there’s a word they won’t know)….you couldna’e make it up.
    Aye ..you might not care…but it’s true…

    NO ONE LIKES YOU.

    Mon the Tax Man.

  • jebus says:

Here’s a thought, if the worst comes to the worst and Scottish football goes down the pan, Celtic would in effect become a free agent would they not. would this not allow us to play in another league?

  • Max says:

    Well said Mike.

For all their jingoism about British troops and their Dambuster themes, I wonder how many British squadies lives could have been saved with the money they have cheated Britian and THEIR Queen out of.

The British troops in the middle east are known as ‘The Borrowers’ due to them having to scrounge protective equipment of the Yanks like shrapnel vests and the like.

They should hang their collective heads in the national SHAME that they are.
