Kenny Dalglish Liverpool newsKenny Dalglish’s patience with his Liverpool players finally snapped last night after losing 3-1 at Bolton.

All season long, despite a series of six frustrating home draws, Dalglish has attempted to talk up his players efforts and commitment alongside his legendary one-liners.

Becoming just the second visiting Premiership side to lose at the Reebok this season proved too much for the Anfield veteran who questioned the approach and professionalism of his players.

The result is disappointing but the most disappointing thing for me was I don’t think they were ready to play the game,” Dalglish said.

“I don’t think the approach was correct, I don’t think the way we went about our work was correct.

“The foundations the football club have always been built on is respect for other people. It is built on the philosophy that the next game is the most important one, not the one that is two or three down the line. If they needed a lesson to be taught to them then this was it.

“If they think they can just turn up and get a result and not be competitive and not match the opposition for effort and then they have had a lesson today. If we have learned it then fine but we have to look at ourselves.”

Former Celts Paul Lambert and Stevie Kean were much happier with their teams despite failing to win.

Norwich held Chelsea to a goal-less draw at Carrow Road while Kean continued Blackburn’s impressive new year form by taking a point from Davie Moyes at Goodison Park.

“A couple of years ago, we were playing the likes of Yeovil and Stockport,” Lambert said after his sides’ first clean sheet in the Premiership.

“No disrespect to them, and now we’re competing with Chelsea which is just incredible – I’m delighted with the players. In every game we give it a right good go and I’ve got nothing but praise for them.”

After drawing with Everton Kean said: “We played well and in the end are disappointed we actually didn’t win the game. I said at half time to the lads just keep doing what we were doing.

“Their goal was a handball but the referee was not in a position to see it and these things happen. We reacted well.

“We just have to keep going and keep showing that spirit and playing that way. We believe we deserved to win the game.”

I couldn’t help but notice the amount of former Celtic employees, (managers and players) managing in the English premier league.

On MOTD last night there was Steve Kean, David Moyes, Kenny Dalglish, Paul Lambert and Martin O’Neill. Also Celtic supporters Owen Coyle and Brendan Rogers.

    What a club!

Don’t forget Mick McCarthy… although a few rumours mainly internet inspired around.

Hopefully Malky Mackay is on his way to the Premiership, there’s also Tony Mowbray and Paolo di Canio
