Senegal striker Baba Diawara has joined Seville in a €3m deal.
Celtic were heavily linked with the Maritimo striker during the last transfer window with only an issue with a work permit preventing the deal from going through.
Diawara was linked with several clubs in France and Germany before Seville moved in to snap up the 24-year-old.
Earlier today Celtic announced the signing of Jaroslaw Farut on a pre-contract deal from Polish side Slask Wroclaw.
With Diawara opting for Seville Neil Lennon will be forced to look elsewhere with the addition of a striker the number one priority during the transfer window.
Lennon hasn’t hidden his desire to bring in another striker to provide competition and back-up to Anthony Stokes and Gary Hooper who have a combined tally of 31 goals for the season.

3 mill euro’s….you’ve lost me there! Apparently Maritimo had turned down a 3.5 mill pound from Stuttgart and they were after 6 mill. Anyway, not to be HH 1NL YNWA 😀
Ah, the mysterious work permit that was either, messed up by the SFA, applied for too late, or never applied for at all- depending on whose version you believe. Just another of Mr Lawells exercises in kiddie-on transfers or lying to his own fans, if you ask me. It’s his biggest talent.
3 million Euros = £2.4m. Isn’t that how much we we’re going to pay for him in the summer ? So we’ve been outbid at the same price ?
Roughly the same price as Mo Bangura ? Well, guess you win some and lose some.
