John Kennedy Celtic newsHamburg recovered from being a goal down to beat Celtic 2-1 in the Mercedes BenzCup tonight.

A third minute goal from Callum McGregor looked likely to give John Kennedy’s side full points but two goals in the last four minutes ended Celtic’s hopes of progressing in the tournament.

Celtic play their final match at approximately 6.30pm (Celtic Park time) against Freiburg.

With Lazio and Freiburg both sitting on four points Celtic will only have pride to play for with the top two sides in Group B going forward to tomorrow’s semi-finals.

The Celtic squad consists of Robbie Thomson, Joe Chalmers, Jackson Irvine, Lewis Kidd, Patrik Twardzik, Darnell Fisher, Callum McGregor, Michael Miller, Denny Johnstone, Bahrudin Atajic,Tony Watt and James Alabi.

A totally different game to what we normally play. Quite clear some of them had no idea how to play “indoors”

Our finishing was very poor indeed, got exactly what we deserved though….we had a few chances but wide open at the back, feel sorry for the keeper.

You are way over the top jimthetim

Indoors six-a-side is a bit freaky.

I’ll judge our bhoys on how they outclassed Manchester City home and away and did well against a decent Marseilles side even though they were well short away to Barcelona.

Marcus Fraser and Dylan McGeough have looked comfortable in the first team, others like Joe Chalmers, Tony Watt, Jackson Irvine, Paul George and John Herron could step into the first team and not be out their depth.

Granted, today wasn’t impressive but the team had a bit of a ‘mare due to airport problems reaching Stuttgart at midnight yesterday.
