Celtic’s u-19 side emerge from their winter hibernation to take part in the Mercedes-Benz Cup today and tomorrow with all of the matches live online.
Eight teams will compete in the u-19 event with Celtic facing Lazio today at 3.05pm (Celtic Park time) followed by matches against Hamburg (5.08 ko) and the holders Freiburg (6.18 ko).
In the other group the organisers are pleased to have attracted the United States national side who have been drawn with Vfb Stuttgart, Mainz 05 and Lechia Danzeg of Poland.
The indoor matches are played over 15 minutes duration on a pitch measuring 50 metres by 30 metres with only a small perimeter wall to reduce the ice hockey factor.
Celtic’s travel plans were effected by the weather yesterday with delays in Glasgow and Amsterdam meaning that they were unable to train at the Glass Palace in Sindelfingen which is located close to Stuttgart.

The Celtic squad consists of Robbie Thomson, Joe Chalmers, Jackson Irvine, Lewis Kidd, Patrik Twardzik, Darnell Fisher, Callum McGregor, Michael Miller, Denny Johnstone, Bahrudin Atajic,Tony Watt and James Alabi.
Following on from the Next Gen Series where Celtic took nine points from Manchester City, Marseilles and Barcelona the weekend event should provide the players with invaluable experience before resuming their bid to retain the domestic double. .
