Craig Whyte Rangers tax case

Paul Clark of Duff and Phelps has revealed that they cannot enforce wage cuts on the Rangers players.

After three weeks of administration Ally McCoist still has a full squad of players to select from despite the club needing to cut costs by £1m/ month to survive till the end of the season.

Duff and Phelps have been locked in talks with the SPFA over cuts but are now facing up to the reality of massive redundancies with the remaining players continuing on full pay.

A similar situation happened at Dundee last season where Leigh Griffiths continued as thetop paid player in the First Division despite the club sacking a dozen players as well as the management team of Gordon Chisholm and Billy Dodds.

Explaining the stalemate Clark said: ”For clarity, we cannot enforce wage cuts. The players have to agree to this course of action. The players have asked us to consider a final proposal overnight for discussion in the morning and we have agreed to this request.”

He added: “Everyone involved in the administration process has been attempting to reach a consensual solution in regard to job losses within the playing squad. The prime reason for this has been to achieve essential cost savings while preserving the fabric of the first team.

This has not been an easy balance to strike and we would like to thank the manager Ally McCoist, his players and the PFA Scotland for attempting to find a solution that would be workable for all. Every realistic option is being explored.

Regrettably, it has not been possible thus far to reach a consensus where players could accept the necessary level of wage cuts to prevent job losses within the squad.

We do not for a moment criticise the players for this as the wage reductions that would be required are very substantial and would have a significant impact on each individual.”

Earlier today the SPL announced that they will investigate claims that Rangers have been issuing players with secondary contracts dating back to 1998.

Craig whyte’s running of the club was pathetic
The players on field performances have been pathetic
Ally McCoist record as manager is pathetic
Every McCoist press conference is pathetic
The fans head in the sand attitude is pathetic
There support for the club is pathetic
Ally Mcoist summer signings were pathetic
The January transfer window was pathetic on an epic scale

So I suppose it is only fitting that this administration is also pathetic.

It really is a joke that it has taken three weeks to get this far! no player cuts yet, these pair of clowns clearly don’t know what they are doing. Trying to sign Cousin as well? wtf was that about.

Something is not right about this, clearly there was a reason Whyte was desperate to get these in as administrators.

Nearly a month gone so that’s another million pound loss. Whyte and these Duffers are after liquidation.

As suspected, they are trying to save their corrupt backsides. rangers have been stealing for years, in my opinion of course, and think they are entitled to their own set of rules because, they always had a different rule book anyway, in my opinion of course.

Duff & phelps should be taking control and calling the shots. The negotiations about taking wage cuts should be done AFTER the playing squad has been trimmed. It’s perfectly clear Rangers FC cannot afford the current wagebill, so no amount of deferred wage reductions will help in the long term.

But with the new powers coming into effect in April for HMRC then I have no problems in waiting.

Meanwhile another mouthpiece in the EX-Director who resided over the current shambles is trying to portray himself as the man to gather a consortium to become new owners. Surely begs the questions

    1) Why did he not do anything about the current mess when he was a board member

    2) How much money is Paul Murray going to invest

    3) Is he not just another clone of Crook Whyte…all mouth and no capital

Having been a former board member who led Rangers to this state, would he pass any test as a fit & proper person to be on the board of a new owner ???

More rubbish from the press instead of getting to the heart of the matter.

Rangers couldn’t even afford Jelly & Ice Cream. I’m tucking in as i speak!

Don’t know why they are talking about players coming to an agreement about taking a reduction in wages, The World renown journalist Keith Jackson stated in the Daily Record that the Rangers Players were prepared to play for free in order to save the club.

Maybe they were – until it actually came to it, but alas NO Headline banners in the Daily Record of Rangers Players RENEGING on playing for free or Jackson and his deputy dog side kick on radio pointing that out !!!!
