Rod Stewart may have been thousands of miles away from Rugby Park but he made sure that he didn’t miss out on any of the celebrations to mark Celtic’s title success.
The singer is enjoying a sell-out run of concerts at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas but there was no doubting where his heart was at the weekend.
Celtic shirts are a regular feature at his concerts but with Neil Lennon’s side triumphing in the SPL a number of hoops supporters were invited on stage.
Stewart has never hidden his love for Celtic and has been a regular at matches since the early seventies when he became friendly with Jimmy Johnstone, Kenny Dalglish and Dixie Deans.
In 1995 he opened the new North Stand when Celtic hosted Newcastle United and was rewarded with a seat for life in the Directors Box.

Rod the Mod, I love the guy!
Joe,
The day you refer to in 1995….
I was in my seat ( just outside the Director’s Box) when he arrived before kick-off wearing a beautifully tailored white jacket( musy have cost a fortune)…
Later when he returned to his seat after the ceremony I caught his eye and shouted….
“Haw Rod…Can I have your jacket when you’re finished with it”?
He smiled…gave me the thumbs up and said….NAW….!!
Happy days.
