Paolo Sergio has launched a scathing attack on Calum Murray that is sure to land the Hearts boss in trouble with the SFA.
In the week that saw Neil Lennon pick up a two match ban for criticising Willie Collum’s display in the League Cup Final against Kilmarnock the Tynecastle chief slaughtered Murray’s handling of his side’s defeat from Rangers.
Murray, who banned Lennon from the dug-out for the second half of Celtic’s defeat at Ibrox last month, was at the centre of a number of controversies as Rangers ran out 3-0 winners.
Sergio fumed: “I don’t want to criticise or find excuses for our defeat but there were moments in the lead up to the first two Rangers goals when Calum was not at his top level.
“Murray is a top-level referee, one of the best in the country, but I cannot agree with those decisions.
“It was a soft foul that led to the free-kick Sone Aluko scored and Andrew Driver had been elbowed in the face before that.
“And at the second goal there was contact on our keeper by a Rangers player in the six-yard box.”
Sergio added sarcastically: “I repeat, Calum is one of our best but I can’t be happy with that kind of performance.
“We all make mistakes but those changed the game. Rangers had done nothing to be leading 2-0.
“There is nothing to complain about with the performance of my players. They worked hard but I was disappointed with the result.”

cant see anything wrong with what he said there..just being honest
He’ll get a slap in the wrists if anything. He’s been quite clever in his answer by praisin the referee as well so the sfa will look favourably at that. Plus, he’s not Neil Lennon so no book will be thrown at him.
The common denominator as regards calum murray ?.Oh I am sure you have worked it out by now.
Once again it seems we are of the same mind yogl.
Every Celtic fans and probably most football fans in Scotland know what the common denominator is.
This is why I think Paulo Sergio is WRONG to say “Murray is a top-level referee, one of the best in the country”. How can any referee be top-level when he is so BIASED towards ONE CLUB.
Now that Paulo Sergio has criticised Calum Murray – sarcastically or otherwise – will Regan let Murray RETIRE for constantly UNDERPERFORMING?
please please please Mr Regan, let the CHEAT go.
