David Murray Rangers newsFormer Rangers owner David Murray has been forced to hand over documentation relating to the sale of the club to Craig Whyte for £1 last May.

Duff and Phelps secured the order at the Court of Session in Edinburgh as the administrators attempt to untangle the financial affairs of the troubled club.

Murray recently claimed that he was duped by Whyte into selling the club for £1 with Rangers plunged into administration nine months after the deal went through.

The exact extent of how duped Murray was will now become clearer to Duff and Phelps as they examine the detail of the correspondence relating to the sale of the club.

Susan Ower, councel for Duff and Phelps told Lord Hodge: “These documents which the administrators seek to recover are sought to facilitate the administrators investigation into the circumstances of the takeover of the company.”

Murray has kept a low profile since selling Rangers but has gone on record to state his regret at selling the club to Whyte.

The former Ibrox owner had previously claimed that he would only ever sell Rangers to someone that has the clubs’ best interests at heart.

As well as the current financial problems Rangers are still awaiting the outcome of the First Tier Tax Tribunal which could land the club for a bill of over £70m for misuse of Employee Benefit Trusts.

Interesting ! I’ve been wondering for a while now if Duff and Duffer have only ever intended to ‘liquidise’ ragers, so their wee man, CW, can make some money.

Let’s hope that in the process they either inadvertently, or deliberately, expose all of Sir Minty’s double-dealings.

tbh, i think the outcome of has reached conclusion already, probably AGES ago. I really would not be surprised if the media have resisted releasing it so that the club could be sold, or have a better chance. Not only this, it would also be a bonus result of the ‘succulant lamb’ they enjoyed with murray all those years ago, protecting him for as long as they can and using craig whyte as the scapegoat for it all.
