Duff and Phelps Rangers newsDuff and Phelps have claimed that they have reached agreement with Craig Whyte over a transfer of his Rangers shareholding.

The shareholding issue has been one of the major stumbling blocks in progressing the financial crisis at the club triggered by the move into administration on February 14.

Being able to deliver Whyte’s shareholding to a new owner should assist in the sale of the club but with a potential tax bill of £50m plus on the horizon it’s highly unlikely that Duff and Phelps will receive an unconditional offer for the club.

Tonight Paul Clark of Duff and Phelps said: “We have continued discussions with the parties remaining in the bidding process and good progress has been made.

“We can also confirm that Craig Whyte has confirmed that he will transfer his shareholding in Rangers Football Club to two of the parties and has indicated he would not be an impediment to a sale of the club.

“We will issue a further update for supporters (on Friday) and can say that every effort is being made to conclude the sale of the club as quickly as possible.”

Meanwhile former Manchester United and Chelsea chief Peter Kenyon has dismissed claims that he could be involved with one of the consortium’s expressing an interest in Rangers.

Given the absolute certainty that the club will very soon no longer exist. Therefore the shares held are completely worthless, what Duff & Dumber are not saying is who hold the major assets Stadium, Training ground etc.

Of course he won’t be an impediment to a sale….as long as he gets his money …so nothing changed one iota then.

CVA not a chance in hell….put the assets on the open market and then we shall see who is serious or not about running a football club…especially a 3rd rate one
