QPR hothead Joey Barton ended the season in the spotlight with a red card as Manchester City dramatically snatched the Premiership title in injury time.
Barton started the season at war with Newcastle United before his move to London and finished it with a red card followed by kneeing Sergio Aguero then attempting to head butt Vincent Kompany before leaving the pitch with a pushing match with Mario Balotelli!
“The head was never gone at any stage, once I’d been sent off, one of our players suggested I should try to take 1 of theirs with me…,” the midfielder claimed on twitter.
“Think a few people are forgetting Tevez started the fracas by throwing a punch to the head…?
Later he added: “To those same nuggets, the ones that constantly wrote us of all season. See u in the Premiership next season.
“Still not my proudest moment but who gives a f**k, we are safe……….and that is all that matters.
“Can do nothing but apologise to the players and the fans. Still don’t think its a sending off. Tried to take 1 of their players with me….”
Having inherited Barton halfway through the season Mark Hughes is expected to bin the twitter nugget.
With three years left of a lucrative contract it’s unlikely that many clubs will be queuing up to take Barton away from QPR.

Barton would fit in at ibrox. He ticks all the right boxes. He is an idiot, a cheat and a liar. Oh yeah, he has about as much skill as a dead monkey.
Exactly what i was thinking when i was watching it. What a clown i’d love to see our Broony against him. 5 minutes & our captain would have him ready to explode.

Good player but definitely got a screw loose and twittering rants won’t help…should shut it and get the head down – concentrate on playing football rather than grabbing the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
