Neil Lennon newsWould-be Rangers owner Charlie Green believes that the SPL trophy could be Ibrox-bound next May.

Less than a week after being introduced as the latest Rangers saviour the former Sheffield United chief is planning on taking the title back from Celtic.

Most Rangers fans would be happy to receive a season ticket renewal letter and the promise of having a club to watch next season but the would-be owner is aiming to be simply the best.

Despite being dependent on HMRC and Ticketus accepting part of an £8.5m CVA and facing a 12 month transfer embargo, no European football and other sanctions for over a decade of undeclared payments Green believes that the existing Rangers squad can bounce back to take the title from Celtic.

“To my mind, if we can’t sign anyone but can keep the existing players, why wouldn’t we win the league,” the straight talking Yorkshireman declared.

Alistair has done a fantastic job this season with a 10-point deduction.

“My understanding, and I’m going to sit down with Alistair next week, is that a number of players reached agreements with the administrators to take reductions in salaries and vary their contracts.

“The payment, shall we say, in agreeing those variations is that they would be allowed to leave at a lower price.

“What I would expect is that these players will sit down with myself and the manager so we can explain what the plans are for the club over the next two or three years.

“Of course, the big problem in all of this is the agents. I think the players respect Ally, they love the club and have enjoyed playing here. We are going to do whatever Ally wants to do. We are backing him.

“I’ve had a number of meetings with him and he understands where we are coming from. Ally is very happy, in my view, with what he has seen and heard.

“It’s about building up trust. Whether it is the fan on the street or the manager, everyone is suspicious of anyone who comes through these big front doors at Ibrox. I would be exactly the same.”

You’re easily pleased Mr. Green. You are quite happy to lose the league by JUST 10 POINTS. That’s the true defeat and not deductions.
“It’s about building up trust. Whether it is the fan on the street or the manager, everyone is suspicious of anyone who comes through these big front doors at Ibrox.
You don’t need to tell any other fans, Mr. Green. Just a pity there are still people going through tham thar big front doors. You and the others will all be leaving by the WEE BACK DOOR no doubt, especially Daft and Skelper to sneak out their earnings and to save their skins.
“It’s about building up trust.” Well, to give you your due, Mr. Green, you know how to spell TRUST.

I thought i was going to pish myself with laughter when i heard him. If i never seen him say it i’d have thought it was just the media up to their old tricks or a hoaxer.

He makes Walter Mitty sound like Albert Einstein. Sally is a good manager? It’s good for the fat man there’s an embargo he’d only spend money on players like Ortiz. His only half decent signing was Aluko & even he had to pay to join.

    Can’t say it enough.

HMRC have the trump card. There can be no CVA without their say so. They have more than 25% vote in the CVA process therefore without their say so, it cannot go ahead. WE control the HMRC through our MP’s and MSP’s. Make sure your local MP / MSP is made aware of this.

Why is Sally not asking for clarity about who is in their bailout team?

It seems that everyone needed to know who was adjudicating on who was dispensing justice on RFC(IA) but nobody is interested in who might be involved in their buy out.

Mick F is right. Walter Mitty and by the way, Pinochio come to mind.

Well there’s always a first time in a long time for Toxic f.c to WIN a title but i suspect it wont be for a few decades or so. I have now worked out what their five stars over their toxic logo stood for: the five trophy’s that they actually WON in their history as opposed to the tainted dozens they stole by cheating and fraud. Their blue football top will forever be synonymous with CHEAT F.C. I suspect that Green will be joining the vultures party very soon alongside Duff & Duffer and wee Craig Whyte when the real proverbial hits the fan. Another word merchant!

    Blah de Blah de Blah.
If the shame are stupid enough to believe the green knight just let them carry on.
Whyte convinced court to appoint Duff and Stupider
Whyte has previous connection with Green.
    Anyone see a connection here.
