Neil Lennon newsNeil Lennon has started his summer clear-out with four first team squad men quitting the hoops.

Daniel Majstorovic has agreed to join AIK Stockholm on August 1 with Niall McGinn, Richie Towell and Mark Wilson also moving on.

There could be over a dozen departures in total over the summer with Darren O’Dea, Cha Du-Ri and Glenn Loovens also out of contract.

Lennon admitted: “We have a plan in place for next season and have identified three or four players we hope to bring in. We also need to trim the squad because it is a bit big at the moment.

“Niall McGinn, Mark Wilson and Richie Towell will leave the club as their contracts are up and Daniel Majstorovic has signed for Stockholm.

“There are a few more who will be out of contract and I need to know what their plans are.

“There are some I would like to keep but I am not too sure that is going to be the case.”

Out of favour Leicester defender Matt Mills is one of the players that Lennon would like to bring in with Kelvin Wilson likely to be offered as part of an exchange deal.

Efrain Juarez and Morten Rasmussen are both under contract for next season but know that they have no future at Celtic.

Getting an answer from Fraser Forster on whether he’ll return to Celtic on a permanent deal will be key to Lennon’s plans for next season.

Forster has twice joined Celtic on loan once the season has started but with the Champions League qualifiers starting at the end of July the hoops boss wants to have his best side available with a £15m bonus available for qualifying to the group stage.

I hope we don’t wait too long on such as Forster making up his mind. A very important position and any doubts / delays should simply see us make a move for a permanent replacement.

I’d expect at least one of the more established first team squad to be sold either Ki or Kayal maybe both and the money re-invested in more quality.

We need to focus on players with some pace as this is vital in Europe, we shouldn’t need to be protecting defenders from playing against one or two strikers every week as they do in the SPL. If they can’t handle 1 v 1 or 2 v 1 they shouldn’t be here.

Most important is to ensure we hit the ground running for our CL ties as the opposition will have games under their belt. Don’t want to see us chasing all over the world playing a couple of friendlies in USA then Portugal then Ireland then England….stupid and will harm us in the early part of the season.

Willie forget about Ki and Kayal none of them moving on. We will have enough in the kitty when the dead wood is out the door. With 12 or so players going the scouts should be able to identify some more solid players to bulk back up the team and with watt and mcgeoch not to mention maybe 1 or 2 more ready to step up we will have a strong squad for next season. IN LENNY WE TRUST

Kayal should be kept and surely we should be looking at better players than an out of favour leicester city player…sure lenny can pull one or two good buys in before the business gets underway

Loovens wife tweeted ciao glasgow yesterday and put up a picture of a pickfords removal van. Cervi also tweeted he wouldnt be back. So theres two more off the squad. Good luck to all of them. Yakubu and Given mentioned down south as coming to Celtic
