Ally McCoist Rangers newsAlly McCoist has said that finishing in the top six of the SPL would be a dream, to be honest with you.

Yesterday Rangers issued a court challenge to the SFA’s decision to place a 12 month transfer embargo on the club.

Rangers currently owe money to clubs in Scotland, England, Sweden, France, Italy and Austria and haven’t submitted audited accounts since 2010.

With the SFA fearful of UEFA or FIFA intervening a 12 month transfer embargo was placed on Rangers as well as a fine of £160,000 with the club directors heavily criticised for their failure to run the club in a compliant manner.

Despite slashing the wages of players that signed new deals less that a year ago McCoist believes that Rangers should be allowed to bring in new players.

“I was extremely disappointed when our appeal to the SFA was turned down,” the Ibrox boss said. “This will not only cripple us in terms of players coming in, it also runs the serious risk of existing players leavingg

“I think it’s important it is taken further, whether to the courts or to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. We lost in the region of 11 players since the start of last season. We could possibly lose more this summer without being able to replace them, leaving us bang in trouble.

“I don’t make these remarks looking for sympathy. I’m just trying to get the best deal possible for our club. Outgoings in personnel would determine how next season would go.

“If we lost another six or seven players, say, then you would have to think the top six would be a dream, to be honest with you. After that you would just have to take your chances.

“As it stands, we at least have to try to get the players who have been loyal to the club and each other back here next season. At least that would give us a reasonable solidity, if we can keep a spine of lads like Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and Steven Naismith.

“But pretty much everything is still on hold. All I can do is plan pre-season training. But the crazy this is that you are planning it without knowing who will be there. It’s a bizarre situation, but you have to plan and prepare as best you can to be ready for the start of the season.”

As well as the players that took pay cuts being able to leave for reduced rates Sasha Papac, David Healy and Some Aluko are all out of contract next month with Kyle Bartley’s loan deal from Arsenal ending.

Who in their right mind would sell a player to Rangers FC (In Administration) if not paid 100% up front….while other clubs all over Europe are still waiting on payment. Ditto with players, who would want to join an outfit that has players on 25% of wages…facing bankruptcy and probable demotion if not expulsion……You are already dreaming Sally…top 6 in the SPL…you don’t belong in the SPL face up

We all know that big Fat Sally is only there as a figurehead for the knuckle-draggers. One of their own to whom they can look to for answers as this ‘Titanic’ club slowly submerges into the dead sea. Were he not inside pretending to care about this toxic waste dump the bears would be deserting in droves as indeed they will do when the proverbial hits the fan very soon.
