SPL Celtic newsThe SPL have confirmed that they are in secret talks with preferred Rangers bidder Bill Murray.

The Chicago-based trucking magnate has been given a frosty welcome from Rangers fans concerned that he is looking to liquidate the club.

Miller’s only statement so far mentioned that his bid was conditional on no footballing sanctions from the SPL or SFA.

Rangers are appealing a transfer embargo placed on them by the SFA and face a 10 point penalty from the SPL if they are still in administration at the start of next season.

The SPL are due to vote on Monday over new proposals allowing a liquidated club to transfer their share to a newco with penalties applied to the newco.

Following the news that Miller has been given preferred bidder status at Rangers the SPL announced:

The Scottish Premier League (SPL) notes that preferred bidder status has been granted to Bill Miller: “The SPL will now continue discussions with Mr Miller and his team. No further comment will be made at this time.”

The SPL are currently investigating undeclared payments made to Rangers players and staff through the EBT scheme.

Theres obviously a lot of water to pass under the bridge on this one yet but if the SPL are agreeing to this guys demands then we ma as well all give up the game.

Celtic have stayed silent for long enough now, its time for PL to come out and make a statement on behalf of Celtic fans and probably a lot of other supporters too. If the Celtic Board dont get this right, then they will be perceived as weak and subservient.

  • JoeG says:

The establishment at their very best!! Secret meetings with secret handshakes, and only those in the know in attendance, with of course, the goats in their lives present too.

Agree 100%… Other SPL clubs might have been thinking if it’s so easy we’ll spend £50m & just do the same. Neil Dimcaster will make sure no one else can do this, ok for Rankers but just this once. It would be interesting to see what UEFA are thinking while listening to all this.

    Whit the F***?

  • Thai Tim says:

Is it legal for a business to accrue massive debts then create a new company, transfer all their assets into that new company, then tell the creditors they are skint and have no assets to sell off so they have to accept repayment at a pennies in the pound rate? This sounds like blatant fraud to me!

Is Craig Whyte going to sanction that his assets are given away for free?

    Hmmm?

  • Gerry says:

I’m sure Celtic are keeping their powder dry before making their position clear on what’s happening….

    At least I’m fairly sure..I think….

    • Brian says:

Gerry you could be correct, recall the interview with Chris McLaughlin on the morning of the afternoon Rangers* announced they were going into administration. If I remember correctly PW stated that “if that moment came (in reference to Rangers Admin) that they would have a very strong view on it”.

  • Willie says:

IF the SPL has agreed to a no sanctions re-entry into the SPL.

Celtic had better come out and state that they will take absolutely NO TICKETS for ANY aways games EVER.

Not the only ones who can throw threats about sanctions around….and I know who carries the most support….Celtic or a Dodo FC with no europe / no top team players

Dunfermline to vote themselves into relegation…Yorkston is mad but completely mental ??

SFA…..They can forget about any crowds attending their semi-finals / finals if Celtic are involved.

HMRC accept a CVA that is worth hee haw to them or liquidate a club that means hee haw to them and get a share of the sale of assets / players mmmmmmmmm toughie ehhhh

  • Jimmy Docherty says:

it’s time for people power to take over… and let the establishment know , it’s the punters who pay their wages

  • ciaran says:

Its quite clear that the bast**ds r going to get away with it all the spl/sfa r a joke always have been always will be and us Celtic fans will just have to sit and take thus crap

  • edward says:

A key decision for me other than the SFA continuing with their sanctions would be Rangers history being abolished and a Newco recognised as such i.e a New company starting with no history This is the most importanf decision to me.

    • James says:

My sentiments exactly, their history scrubbed completely would be not only right but magical at the same time.

  • bhoylondon67 says:

For me this would put Scottish football in the same sporting bracket as WWF.

  • stubhoy says:

Well patience is a virtue regarding the Celtic stance on this matter (Once they know what will happen then they will act accordingly otherwise the fans will have their guts for garters).

On the Bill Miller thing its obvious he is an American verion of Craig Whyte he will sell all thats not nailed down if and that’s a BIG IF Craigy lets him so that’s a NO NO.

RFC fans will be biting at the chomp the now knowing that a Yank Businessman with no knowledge of Football let alone the SPL system are about to take charge of their club and finally just when you thought that was all the HMRC came knocking along with the players wanting their new contracts honoured or they walk away for free Yes Bill Miller welcome to HELL hahahahahaha
