Scottish League news

Raith Rovers have become the first Scottish Football League club to raise concerns about Servco being parachuted into the First Division.

The phrase ‘sporting integrity’ almost became a codeword for a no vote in the SPL debate surrounding newco with Raith using that phrase in a club statement issued today

With the SPL door closed on Servco there has been suggestions that the SFL may try to find a way of creating a place in Division One if Charlie Green can raise a team from the Ibrox ashes

Previous SFL entrants have had to enter Division 3 with Inverness Caley Thistle and Ross County working their way through the divisions into the SPL.

If Sevco are offered a place in Division One it will almost certainly mean that Green could have his club back in the SPL for the 2013/14 season.

A statement from the Fifers read: “Raith Rovers FC continues to closely monitor developments in the saga of who will replace the liquidated Rangers within Scottish football.

“As proud members of the Scottish Football League, we may soon be called upon to consider proposals for the way forward not only in relation to any vacancy that may arise in our league but also in respect of the future construction of the game in Scotland.

Whilst we retain an open mind on the subject of league reconstruction, and will carefully consider any proposal put to us by the SFL board in this regard, the board of directors of Raith Rovers FC is unanimous in its view that we shall certainly not cast our vote in favour of any integrated plan that in our view compromises sporting integrity by involving the admission of any ‘Newco’ directly into Division One.”

Raith finished last season in seventh place in Division One and are expected to lose manager John McGlynn to Hearts.

If the inept football authorities think for one second that allowing Sevco 5088 into the first division is any less infuriating than trying to bend the rules to drop them back into the SPL then football in this country is dead.
They are a complete embarrassment and need to be reported to UEFA as this can not be allowed to happen end of!

Recent events have proved Rankers fans were right for years when they sung no one likes us we don’t care (only they care NOW ready to throw the toys out the pram at every opportunity). Probably the only thing the EE has got right.
It’s a certainty that the SFL teams will now get the usual bullying & threats a legacy of the old regime.
I’m sure la liga of serie a will invite them.

Fantastic piece of analysis by the guy from St Johnston.

The MSM truly are Walter Mythy’s

Our local leisure centre is running a 5-a-side comp, winner takes all (£500). Sevco could enter that, if they have enough players. they dont even need a ground, itches provided by the Leisure centre. win win

Change of subject, but I wondered if anyone noticed that big Fraser has gone, never to return. The ragers saga is fascinating, but maybes it’s time we got at least one eye back on our own team. So far, we don’t seem to have done much strengthening for our assault on the CL. More like a bit of weakening really.
