Jardine slams walk away heroes

Sandy Jardine newsSandy Jardine has launched a savage attack on the ten Rangers players who have refused to transfer their contracts to TUPE.

In March Steve Davis, Allan McGregor and Steven Whittaker were celebrated as legends after agreeing to 75% pay cuts in order to keep Rangers operating until the end of the season.

Since the weekend ten players, including Murray Park graduates Jamie Ness and John Fleck, have announced that they are quitting Ibrox with Jardine outraged by their moves.

“You have to say that if the players were up front and honest you would respect them more,” he told Rangers tv.

“What they have done is seen an opportunity – whether it is them or their agents – to maximise their income.

“The players took a salary sacrifice but for that they got clauses in their contracts which would allow them to leave on rock bottom prices if clubs came in for them.

“I have to be honest and I think the players have used our predicament to their gain.

“Ally McCoist gave a statement last week where he asked the players not to kid anyone on and to be up front and honest with the supporters.”

In March after lengthy negotiations the Rangers players agreed to three month pay cuts in return for being able to quit the club in the close season for an agreed free.

With Rangers in liquidation and Green’s Sevco yet to gain membership of the SFA the players have been left in limbo at a club with no league to play in.

Despite those issues Jardine believes that the players should still have transferred their contracts through to the new club.

They would move on with our best wishes and we would get a fee,” the former defender reflected. “Albeit a rock bottom price in comparison to their market value.

“I know they made sacrifices but the gain will be huge in comparison. The unfortunate thing for us is that we get nothing.

“What we don’t have an answer for is why the players simply did not adhere to the original deal and allow the club to make money from these reduced fees.

“There was an agreement reached over wage cuts and they got a great deal because they could leave for rock bottom prices and now they have seen an opportunity. In many ways it’s greed.

“A lot of them are being manipulated by their agents but as Ally said, tell us the truth; be up front and honest and don’t put these smokescreens up.

“I for one don’t believe them and I know the vast majority of the supporters don’t believe them either.

“What we have to do in our situation is to get everything sorted out, know what league we are in, know what players are staying and then start to build from there.

“If we don’t have money from fees for players leaving – which we are completely entitled to – then what are we supposed to build on – fresh air?”

Was the renegotiated contracts not based on Green getting a CVA agreed and coming out of Administration as he was so confident it was going to happen?

Either way any pro with any sense would do the exact same and walk away so don’t know why he’s bothering bumping his gums.

Not that I’ve much time for any Rankers’ player…
but I used to think that Mr.Jardine represented the balanced and articulate side of this Club…

    How wrong can you be…?

He has now become a snarling vindictive voice of the Peepul…and it does him no favours whatsoever.

If I had been involved in PR at Rankers..he would have been my choice to perhaps show a bit of humility and contrition for past acts…Instead he has been used as the typical Rankers man…

Bullying/ Aggressive/ and nauseating in the extreme.

All I can say is …Thank you Rankers….

    You’ve got it so wrong…again.

  • sands1888 says:

What the halfwit hero to the simple peepul doesnt grasp is the same as the media and everyone else outside our support fails to mention.

Rankers are no more. They do not exist. They dont have any players to leave them. They have not been relegated.

They should have to apply to thr spl to start at the bottomsame as anyone else. The players owe bigot fc 2012 nothing.

The rangers globetrotters 3 months from cva then liquidation hahahahaha

  • OldRossCo says:

The last thing this powder keg situation needs is the vilification of these boys who, for a short career, are paid to play football.

Rangers have a dangerous element of their support as we all know too well, from Lennon being attacked, rioting in Manchester, bomb threats, bullets in the post and explosive devices posted to prominent Celtic fans.

These rabble rousing speeches may be typical of Rangers spokespersons, but if anything happens to any of these boys, it will be on the conscience of Green, Jardine and McCoist.

Next time they stop for breath, perhaps they should consider that.

    • JoeG says:

Excellent points. I suspect that we all have our own thoughts on where the death threats, bombs etc originated. Who was it who put to order out there. I think we have our suspicions. But jardine is a scumbag. This was a guy who went to Greg Wylde as he opted to leave the cheats from Govan and made it clear to him that he should never sign for Celtic. What a total plonker. The kid is starting his career, while he probably wouldn’t have been approached by us, here was scumbag telling him not to go to the biggest club in Scotlad, the club with the best, most honest history! Never mind that the kid could have been interested. Basically scumbag determined he should quit the game first before thinking about signing for us. jardine is scum.

When they dont get what they want, the bully boy tactics comes out in them.how many employees and others have been lent on, to work for less under there terms.

Sadly there is some sad people who think of them as heroes. jardine and ally are sabre ratlers, doing just as they are told by the old guard from above.told to jump [they reply] HOW HIGH

  • it will be on the conscience of Green, Jardine and McCoist.

Not when they don’t have any!

I’m Celtic through and through but I take exception to the way this story is laid out, the facts and comments are true but the timeline is skewed.
Jardines comments are days, maybe even a week old but the news of ten players protesting is current, the way this is laid out gives the impression whether accidental or intentional, that his comments are in reaction to the recent walk aways.
We don’t need to do this to stories

    • OldRossCo says:

      Jardine quotes.

“I am dismayed and disappointed by the actions of the eight players.”

“You have to say that if the players were up front and honest you would respect them more. What they have done is seen an opportunity – whether it is them or their agents – to maximise their income.”

“The players took a salary sacrifice but for that they got clauses in their contracts which would allow them to leave on rock bottom prices if clubs came in for them. I have to be honest and I think the players have used our predicament to their gain.”

The first is about 8 players leaving which is only yesterday. The second and third talk in the past tense about players leaving. Even if these quotes are in the wrong order and he is venting at one player, it is irresponsible of him.

  • sands1888 says:

We need to remember here that these ex players are not themselves very intelligent. And they are trying to talk to some of the lowest forms of life ever given birth to. The club are dead. The socalled fans will not support the new club. As the vast majority are only in it because they were pretty much assured titles and cups on a regular basis. If castle greyskull doesnt end up as a tescos and have to work there way up from div 3. We will see how loyal they are. The only thing that can make this better is bankrupt fc losing the cheated titles

  • seaney67 says:

Sandy the air around sh*tebox has never been fresh.just left with the debt .decades of cheating. stigma of ingrained bigotry.tax evasion.and a reputation that would embarass an investment banker. Hell slap it up the lotta ya’s. But please keep the entertainment going until our season starts. H H

  • Wb says:

Poor Jardine, taken the “Greens” Has nobody told him he can’t get any “loans” from his EBT!! HH

  • paranoidandroid says:

To hear McCoist and Jardine accusing the players of dishonesty, you can only assume that they’ve both had an irony by-pass. I think that the players have behaved with honesty and restraint throughout this farce.
And that’s something I could never say about McCoist or Jardine, or Duff and Duffer, or Green, or any of the other money grubbing vipers involved. I’ve never heard so many people tell so many blantant, deliberate lies. But the players didn’t tell any of them.

  • JohnP says:

Someone needs to sit this retard and his equally stupid pal McCoist down and explain the situation to them. There is no football club, these guys are football players, they have already kept the club going through their pay cuts and no one was made redundant during the whle administration process (something of a miracle). Green has no money and no on knows who the ‘investors’ are. These guys are not sure how long Sevco are going to be able to pay them. To be honest I think they will be lucky to get June’s wages never mind anything beyond this. But stupid Sandy thinks they should just play for nothing. Don’t see him and Greigy offering much cash to save ra peepil.

  • DavyMac says:

Its pathetic that Jardine should even suggest they transfer to newco so they can get a transfer fee for them moving, and ironic one of the few players to switch is Wallace who they never paid for. The cheating scumbags neve paid their bills so don’t deserve any money for anything, maybe this is how Green intended funding the purchase of ipox by selling players that were not his in the first place. Let the infighting continue and hopefully there will be no Huns mark 2 next season. Do they have someone to pass the fit and proper person test? H H

  • williebhoy says:

Did I miss Jardine’s apology to Hearts, Rapid and all the other clubs they have stolen without paying…yet he now wants players to basically give money to a club they have never played for ???

If anything these players will be forever known as cheats, so they owe both the former & new clubs NOTHING.

  • dombhoy67 says:

The only way that Jardine and McCoist can keep the deluded supporters on side is if they give them as mush reasons to vent anger and hate as they can. This is their lowest common denominator and its the mud that sticks them together. Without reasons to hate and vent anger they would have to become informed. . .and that’s doesn’t seem likely!

  • dombhoy67 says:

That should read . . .”as much reason”…sorry!

  • Celtic Daft says:

    We don’t do walking Away!

  • Sad,but not a suprise.

  • Tommy Tim says:

PANDY SARDINE the wee fish in a sea of excrement quoted as saying:
“I know they made sacrifices but the gain will be huge in comparison. The unfortunate thing for us is that we get nothing.

“What we don’t have an answer for is why the players simply did not adhere to the original deal and allow the club to make money from these reduced fees

If we don’t have money from fees for players leaving – which we are completely entitled to – then what are we supposed to build on – fresh air?”

Many involved at Ibrokes IMO are fortunate not be in prison right now and the people most entitled to any money from players are those creditors who were cheated out of their entitlement

    Laughable Pandy ! Laughable!

The said players (as I understand things) signed a deal with RFC(IA), subject to a CVA being accepted, not Green’s Sevco…Good Luck building on the air around Govan which is pungent with the deathly stench of the degrading corpse of RFC(IA) and with the excrement left behind by the catalogue of miscreants who were the former custodians. This comedy series continues…I can’t wait for the next episode!
