James Forrest Celtic newsNeil Lennon was delighted to have James Forrest back in action and gave the highly rated youngster the captain’s armband in the 0-0 draw with Augsburg.

Lennon worked with Forrest during his brief spell as development team coach and has been instrumental in turning the raw youth into a top team performer.

Speaking after the draw with the Bundesliga side Lennon said: “James was 21 at the weekend, he became a man so we wanted him to become a man tonight.

“He was a bit sloppy at times but he’s not played since the cup final against Kilmarnock. He’s looked bright but we know what we’ve got with James.

“We’ve got three weeks until the qualifiers so that should give us the chance to work with him.

“James has been around the first team for two-and-a-half years now and has become an integral part of the squad.”

Lennon continued with the 3-4-1-2 formation that he experimented on towards the end of last season with Kelvin Wilson, Charlie Mulgrew and Filip Twardzik forming the back three.

The Celtic boss has almost a dozen players to add to the eleven that started last night’s match as his squad report back from extended international duty at the end of last season.

Fraser Forster was the most impressive player last night with the hoops boss pleased that his summer signing is building on the form that he showed last season while on loan from Newcastle.

“Fraser did well for us,” Lennon added: “He made a few really good saves. He was a priority for us to get him. You can see he’s in good nick.”

it’s good to see some of our younger players featuring, and I do think that this is a good time for our young starlets to be at the club.
With sevco 5088 not involved, and hopefully we will still be involved in the Champions League at Christmas, and I did say hopefully, this will be a great opportunity for Lenny to include some the young guns McGeouch,Watt,Teardzik,Slane,Toshhey and co into first team action.
He can rest a few of the big hitters, and the young guns will gain vital first team experience.

PS It’s great to talk about the Hoops again and about sevco 5088 all the time.

WHY has no Celtic fan in Scotland went to a solicitor and asked for legal aid to challenge the sale of Rangers FC Assets to Sevco 5088? Tax payers in Scotland should after todays revelations in STV that Green paid £2.75million for the players and only £1.5million for Ibrox, Murray Park and the Car-parks (the car parks value at £3.75million on open market).

Get Legal Aid to pay for it and ask for a Judical revue of the sale of the assets as they could easily get more for the creditors (Taxman) of which all UK Taxpayers are. If the Court stops the sale and puts it back to the Administrators then they are truely gone as those Assets would have to be sold on open market and individually. There would be no chance of them fielding a team this year and clearly that would be the end of any lingering idea of them have “continuity” and their history still going.

Nothing to lose lads so why not go for it, go see a solicitor in Scotland where the case (I think) needs to be started.

    • Wish it were so easy, Pat. Legal aid is not as simple as you seem to imagine. There are a whole host of criteria and you can bet your boots there will be a few that are not met by a case like this. I think the biggest problem would be getting the legal profession to recognise an individuals right of redress when he is part of a national/governmental creditor i.e. H.M.R.C. Wish I were wrong then we could raise quite a few court cases. By the way, do you truly think the legal vultures would not be gorging on the Rangers carcass long before now if they thought there was a bob or two in it? If you do, then I would love to know the name of your lawyer.
