Savage serious over Sevco offer

Robbie Savage newsRobbie Savage is deadly serious over his offer to play for Sevco.

The squeaky voiced dancing personality went public with his offer on twitter on Wednesday night and was followed yesterday by Dean Windass making a come and get me plea to Ally McCoist.

Savage has had a phone call from Charles Green and is ready to pay for the jersey if the Sevco boss needs reinforcements for his squad.

“Again, I’m deadly serious about the offer,” he told the Daily Record. “I was sitting at home bored the other night and got thinking about Rangers and what I could offer.

“I heard they were short of players so I put something up on Twitter and – bang – it all went berserk. I know Ally from working together at tournaments such as the World Cup. We got on well and my offer is genuine and sincere.

“I have media commitments most Saturdays, including my 606 show on Five Live, that keep me in England but I’d be free most Sundays as well as other times of the week.

“If Ally needed me to play 15 games a season in midweek I’d be there no problem. I’d play free of charge and even pay my own flight up there just to help Rangers out.”

Savage added: “I know Charles and he phoned and left the message on my answer machine and maybe we’ll speak again.

“I appreciate we’d most likely be talking emergency cover but if Ally wanted me as part of his squad I’d happily sign up.

“I know there is a transfer embargo for a year from September, so what if Ally is hit by an injury crisis and loses 10 players over the course of a campaign?

“He could call on me and I’d be there. I’d even sign a contract without playing just in case I was needed.

“I’ve only retired a season and I’m as fit as I’ve ever been. I was captain of Derby County and didn’t miss a game or a training session.”

This not the same prat that rubbish’es scottish football every chance he gets.pretty sure the men that play for the decent clubs in the 3rd division(all barr servco) will be professional in there tackeling.

  • Buffythecat says:

That’s all Scottish football needs right now is another self-centred egotistical nonentity trying to get in on the scandal to boost his own overinflated ego. The very man who advises other professionals to avoid Scottish football because its inferior. I hope they sign him and he gets a taste of Div Three tackling . . .EXCELLENT!

Stick to ball room dancing ya publicity seeking prat. Wonder who the next non-celebrity to offer his services will be must be a very slow news day when this garbage gets printed.

The entire Sevco shambles is getting much more attention than it deserves, amateurish and going from one debacle to another. Now the cheats want to be allowed to keep any titles / trophies won despite being found guilty of cheating and demand that any further investigation be dropped !!
How about some comment from the gutter press about this utter disgraceful attitude from a club that has dragged Scottish football into the gutter instead of pandering to the mindless morons.

Scottish Football can & will survive without them, despite what they seem to think. Time we got rid of the rubbish instead of papering over the cracks. No more half measures to appease, a temporary licence…does this mean the players are only temporarily signed (So loans…thought you could only play a certain number of loanees per season ?) or is Scottish Football still willing to perform somersaults for CHEATS. I’m sure that would have been the same for any other minor club in Scotland NOT.

Quit messing about and stick to the RULES or be classed alongside the Govan Blue Sox….forever.

Too many people outside Scotland are starting to see Sevco/ragers as the victims in this.

If we don’t ensure that the EBT scandal is handled correctly- and the full extent of their cheating is exposed to the world, then they-Murray, Ogilvie, Smith etc- will effectively get away with it. Ragers will be more popular than ever, and Scottish football will be seen as a farce forever more.

Don’t know, I would love to see the ponce playing at Elgin on a wet Wednesday night in December. Imagine what all that mud would do to those lovely locks!

On a serious note, when do we find out if Rangers get their licence?

Although I’m hoops through and through, I don’t think the davie cooper thing is funny m8. Show a bit of decency, that’s disgraceful the guys dead. We would like that if tommy burns or jinky was brought up, so again have a bit of manners m8.

Pantomime season starting early this year?

Can’t do Saturdays but Sundays and midweek matches are o k, wtf. This really is taking farce to a new level, he was the biggest diving cheat i ever saw and i have seen quite a few, if he gets a penalty in Div 3 i hope its because he gets knocked out.

And now Dean Windass jeez, him and gazza really need
( to put it kindly) counselling.
