SFA football newsThe SFA have reacted quickly to a claim by STV that Stewart Regan promised a meeting of SFL clubs that they would prevent Sevco joining the SPL.

STV reported: When asked if Regan had stated during his address to SFL representatives that the Scottish FA would stand in the way of newco Rangers playing in the SPL, Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall remarked: “In his opinion, yes”.

Less than an hour later the SFA moved quickly to deny that claim.

In a statement to the SFA website Regan said: “The Scottish FA was invited to participate in today’s meeting of the Scottish Football League’s members at Hampden Park.

“During a positive and productive meeting, a number of detailed scenarios were discussed regarding the future status of Rangers FC as a newco club.

“Unfortunately, a comment relating to one potential scenario – Rangers FC’s readmission to the SPL – was distorted, taken out of context and leaked to the media by a member.

“For the avoidance of doubt, any decision regarding the future status of Rangers FC requires not only the transfer of the SPL share but the transfer of the Scottish FA’s membership.

“The Scottish FA Board will approve this only when all relevant information has been provided and the directors are satisfied that the solution presented is in the best interests of Scottish football.”

At the SFL meeting a decision was taken to vote on creating a First Division place for Sevco on July 12.

Tomorrow the SPL look certain to reject an application from Charlie Green for Sevco to replace Rangers in the 2012/13 season.

The SFL season starts on July 28 with the Ramsden’s Cup with the SPL kicking off one week later on August 4.

Rangers FC are now no longer a football club just an empty shell, soon to be officially liquidated. They are completely incapable of playing ANY games due to lack of players, stadia etc therefore they CANNOT be granted admission to the SPL.

Other clubs are equally entitled to request admission to the league and any transfer of a share should be thrown out. Sevco 5088 Ltd have NO previous playing records / accouts or history so have no rights to claim an existing share.

  • “The Scottish FA Board will approve this only when all relevant information has been provided and the directors are satisfied that the solution presented is in the best interests of Scottish football.”

My grandfather missed out. My father missed out. Now it seems, I will miss out. At the wrong end of 60, I will be fertilising a ‘green’ patch of my own long before these buffoons get the ‘relevant information’, especially when it has to be concocted while the shredders work overtime. As for ‘in the best interests of Scottish football, well I guess Jesus , might have them in a suitcase at the second coming.

Celtic Supporters Association CAN ask the courts to rule on the final outcome of the vote and if it is outsside the rules, ie they try to let them in without producing accounts etc. then they would be in breach of their rules and the courts could then throw the decision out, just the same as Rangers did when they went to court to have the transfer ban declared void.

Fans groups have a vested interest and the fact there is 1 or more clubs voting against the SFA’s proposal would see the courts rule on the decision.

Even for a veteran like me this is corruption on a scale unheard off. Shocking!!

  • Regan is totally unable to command and lead from the front.
His leadership qualities have been exposed badly.
Never has there been a time when strong leadership is required.

When lowly but lofty Raith Rovers come to the fore and tell the fans the absolute truth about the cop out of responsibility from the SFA,it has to be appluded to the rafters.

I now see a small club like Raith Rovers in a different light – huge in courage and honesty and leading from the front.

Did Regan say the SFA would block sevco from the SPL in any case to Gordon McDougall of Hamilton?

I believe he did but make no mistake,If servco get into the SPL,it will not have been the corruption of Rangers that killed the scottish game – it will have been the people in place charged with protecting it.

    A revolution is surely comming
