The SPL are determined to give away as little as possible as they attempt to negotiate a deal to provide Sevco with a First Division place.
Day by day details are emerging about the backroom deal aimed at having Sevco in the SPL for the start of the 2013/14 season.
As the news leaks out it’s likely to harden the opposition of SFL clubs such as Raith Rovers and Clyde while opposition to the deal grows amongst SFL fans.
According to a report in Scotland on Sunday the so-called Scottish Professional League set up will contain a two tier voting system- effectively SPL and SFL- with no provision for play-offs.
This may be the opening stance of the SPL clubs which they are willing to negotiate from but with time at a premium and a lack of trust on all sides it could be a dangerous game to play.
According to the document seen by Scotland on Sunday: “The A (SPL) ordinary shares and B (OTHERS) ordinary shares would have different class voting rights. As at present, proposals for Amendments to the Articles of Association and to section C of the rules (financial and commercial matters) as well as other strategic matters, which are defined as Qualified Resolutions, would require to be supported by not less than 11 clubs holding A ordinary shares.”
That clause effectively means that just two top division (SPL) clubs have the right to veto any commercial deal regardless of the level of support outwith the top flight.
Some SFL clubs are reluctantly considering the proposal if it includes more than one promotion place to the top division, preferably including a play-off system as they currently have between the First, Second and Third Divisions.
With no proposals for play-off’s into the top division the SFL board will have some hard negotiating to do with the ace in their pack being their control over which division they place Sevco in.

Why is uefa not doing anything about this? Its disgusting. I think the time has come to instruct a qc to challenge the sfa about this, the same way we had paul mcbride show the world how corrupt they were in neil lennons case

The SFL should just refuse them a place in the league, in any division, full stop… Let’s see the SFA breach their own Code (again) by justifying how they can grant membership to a club without the 3 years required audited accounts…

The arrogance and gerrymandering corruption of these three stooges is breathtaking. Just how fa and wide does this corruption go? The cancer that they are spreading all over the Scottish game is more malignant than benign and its there for the whole of Europe to witness. Doncaster, Regan and Longmuir seem hell bent on finding a place in the Scottish 1st division even if it means setting fire to the rule book in the process. This is not about football authorities looking after the Scottish game. This is sheer BLATANT CORRUPTION by the very people who are entrusted to ensure fair play and adherence to the rules. How can they ever in their lives from now on sit in judgement on anything to do with Scottish football when they themselves have been the biggest transgressors of the rules EVER! Time for the Club Chairmen to issue a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE as soon as can be done to rid the game of this malevolence once and for all.
