Mark Brown Ross CountyFormer Celtic keeper Mark Brown has signed a 12 month deal at Ross County.

Brown was released by Hibs at the end of last season but continued to train with the club until being signed up by the First Division champions.

The 31-year-old is one of the most experienced keepers in the SPL having turned out for Rangers, Motherwell, Inverness Caley Thistle, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Hibs.

Michael Fraser will remain first choice at Ross County but Derek Adams is pleased to have Brown competing for a place.

The Ross County boss said: “Mark has great experience. His grounding was at Rangers and he went on to play for Motherwell, Caley Thistle, Celtic and Hibs.

“Although he was a free agent he was still training with Hibs so is up to scratch on his fitness.

“He gives us another option and will ensure competition for Michael.”

Brown is joined in Dingwall by former Celts Paul Lawson and Rocco Quinn.

Ross County face Raith Rovers tonight in the third round of the League Cup with both sides unbeaten in the league.

Raith are sitting in second place in Division One with seven points from three games while County have got six points from three draws and a win in the SPL.

Looking at tonight’s match Adams added: “Raith Rovers have had an excellent start to the season, they won five games in a row before the weekend.

“They are under new management but a lot of their personnel is the same as last season. We have already played them in pre-season and they gave us a tough time.”
