Paul Lambert Norwich newsPaul Lambert has told Alan Hutton that he has no future at Villa Park.

Former Villa boss Alex McLeish paid out £3m for the full-back 12 months ago but Lambert has already decided that Hutton won’t feature in his first team plans.

Hutton was left out of Villa’s pre-season trip to the USA with Lambert explaining his decision after the weekend friendly with Nottingham Forest

“He’s shown a good attitude in training so there are no qualms on that front,” the Villa boss explained about the present situation.

“I spoke to Alan before we went to America and it is the same as before. Nothing has changed really.

“He is training with the first team and doing everything right.

“I have no problem with Alan whatsoever and he knows that because I had a chat with him. There have been no inquiries for Alan – not at the minute.”

Hutton’s rise and fall over the last five years has been dramatic. With no other club expressing an interest Spurs paid a reported £9m to Rangers in January 2008 despite the Ibrox side chasing an unprecedented quadrange of trophies.

Juande Ramos was sacked by Spurs nine months later with Harry Redknapp dropping Hutton out of his first team plans and sending him out on loan to Sunderland for the second half on the 2009/10 season.

Matthew Lowton will start the season at right-back with Lambert keen to give up and coming players their chance.

“I think Matthew has done well for a young lad who has stepped up from League One,” the Villa boss added. “I don’t think he looks out of place. He has done really well and has to continue that.

“With every game he’ll pick up things and learn about the game at this level quickly. He’s got to get to grips with the Premier League quickly and I’m sure he’ll do that.”

Hutton has been included in the Scotland squad to face Australia next week.

There was always something not quite right with the Hutton transfer.
Only one club in for him and no biding war just £9million prior to that the Rangers support had constantly heckled him, six months playing half decent football and he’s worth £9million.
Wonder if anyone at spurs was the recipient of an EBT. Boumsong was another strange transfer, not unlike Tugay. How deep does this EBT story going.

There was the amazing thirty thousand quid received by Souness at the time of the boumsong transfer. Of course it was obviously all above board no doubt!
Hutton is probably dreaming of playing at his true level, the scottish third division.
I suspect Ramos was the recipient of a nice tidy payment when he bought the dud from that old club which used to be known as rangers. If not ramos, I suspect if it is investigated far enough, someone will have pocketed a few bucks.

Surely this cant be the same hutton that the dilsusion benefit scroungers sold for 9mill, he was a world class superstar. He was going to take on the world, the old huns always seemed to get lucky with transfer dealings eh? Always got well above actual value, almost as if something dodgy going on, surely not dignity fc

Allegedly, Daniel Levy was owed money by old rangers for shares Murray bought from him. At the time Sir Minty was experiencing a minor cash-flow problem, so Hutton, who didn’t want to go, got punted. Whether he wanted to or not.
A substantial sweetener was required to force Hutton out the door.
That’s what I heard down the pub.

Yer man levy used to director at snake mountain im sure, very cosy eh? Probably true what you were told, the good old pub talk eh. I could tell you a story you wouldnt believe about rat-cho novo if joe would let me
