Dylan McGeouch newsNeil Lennon has confirmed that Dylan McGeouch suffered a sus[ected fractured jaw in the 2-0 defeat from Real Madrid.

The midfielder was stretchered off in a neck brace after a six minute delay to the match after a clash with Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin.

Lennon raced onto the pitch as the player lay motionless with some of the players clearly distressed by the condition of their team-mate.

After the match the Celtic boss explained: “Dylan is in hospital with a suspected fractured jaw. He is in a distressing state and is in a bit of shock.

“He’s had an injection. It’s one of those cruel injuries. Fingers crossed he can make a quick recovery.

“We won’t know the full extent until the specialist assesses him. He may need surgery to repair it.

“Dylan was our best player in an attacking sense. He showed off his talent and I was delighted with him.

“We asked him to express himself and he was fabulous. It’s just a shame for him and has put a dampener on a very good week following our win in Helsinki.”

McGeouch’s injury wasn’t the only blow for Lennon to contend with as he prepares his side for the crucial Champions League qualifiers with Helsingborgs.

Scott Brown, James Forrest, Paddy McCourt, Georgios Samaras and Mikel Lustig stayed behind in Glasgow with further injuries picked up stateside.

Lennon added: “Gary Hooper had to drop out due to stiffness in his hamstrings, then during the warm-up Anthony Stokes felt pain in his ankle and couldn’t play.

“Daryl Murphy came off with a hamstring strain and we don’t the full extent of that yet. So there is bit of the walking wounded about us.”

What’s with the ESPN commentator? @6:00mins – “There’s a “Rangers”!!! players down”!!! Eh?!
Get up to speed, we’ve got 3-4 seasons ahead of us before that could even be a possibly excusable mistake!

All the best for a speedy recovery to Dylan McGeouch

Interesting and telling that not a single mention to his injury (nor the inappropriate challenge) was given on Spanish TV and even some insinuation of dirty play from Celtic! – Nothing new there from the “Chulo” media champions of the world.

    Hail! Hail!
    Come on the Hoops!
