Ally McCoist Rangers newsA dramatic last gasp goal from Andy Little for Sevco earned the SFL newboys a barely deserved point at Peterhead today.

Sevco looked to be on easy street when Barrie McKay opened the scoring in the 27th minute with the visitors, fielding EIGHT full internationalists strong favourites to win the title.

Peterhead refused to roll over and deservedly took the lead through goals from Rory McAllister and Scott McLaughlin in the 64th and 82nd minutes.

Sevco sent on Kevin Kyle after losing their second goal with the former Sunderland strikers’ header crashing off the bar and being bundled into the net by Andy Little to give the newcomers their first ever point.

Referee Steven Finnie played three minutes of stoppage time with the homeside coming close to scoring a dramatic and well deserved winner.

After the match Sevco boss Ally McCoist said: “I didn’t go through the players but I told them how I felt. I told them how I expect them to defend and that’s not the way that Rangers should defend away from home against anybody.

“I think that the majority of games, especially away from home in the league, will be like cup ties. The big team doesn’t always win in the cup tie but at the same time I’d be very very very disappointed if we don’t perform better than that.

“We are probably being a little harsh on Peterhead, of course criticism should be levelled at our defending, of that there is no doubt but at the same time I think Jim McInally and his team take the plaudits.

“It goes without saying that we need players coming in, the numbers would dictate that really really need bodies coming in. Apart from the boys coming in we’ve not got a lot in reserve. We need to get numbers in.”

Following Sevco’s extra-time Ramsdens Cup win over Second Division Brechin Charles Green stated that he’d love to give McCoist a contract for life.

Thought they were going to beat everyone out of sight…..?? Well think again pal. It will be a taxi for the wee fat yin soon I think. Of course they still have all of Newcastle reserve players to come in once Ashton gets the go ahead to invest, although I cannot see too many wanting to play in Div 3.

So much for the feel good factor returning to defunct fc. Ally’s fat face was a treat to see though. What a pudding of a manager so the sooner he signs the better.

  • mick says:

Keep him for life, super sadly did anyone see his big baldy patch, he’s losing his hair as well as his dignity.

I was hoping he would mention no preseason games again but he chose to look at the defence its going to be great watch his fat face in the winter nights comedy gold

That’ll be the ‘odd draw’ that the ‘The’s get while winning EVERY game comfortably no-mark hately was on about?
Happy for the ‘The’s getting it so early in the season.

    ;0)

To be fair Sevco f.c are a new side in the Third Division and are not used to playing against teams that don’t lie down.

Also its hardly fair that Sevco are not allowed to cheat. Cheating is an old tradition for establishment teams but apart from being allowed to sign anything with two legs and a myopic career plan they are not allowed to spend money they don’t have. Now that’s hardly fair is it?

Moreover, the referee in the Peterhead Sevco game was a disgrace. Not once did he give Sevco a penalty nor did he send off any of the Petrhead players. . .come on! how is a team supposed to win a game of football when all these things are ranged against them. No wonder Scottish football is in sic a mess eh!

  • jackmac says:

Saw they still have five stars on their shirts. Is that a prediction on how many points they’ll get this season?

  • sands1888 says:

Hahaha i thought i would bore of laughing at them by now, guess theres a bit left

reading the above report what stood out for me was “Andy Little bundled home for THIER FIRST EVER POINT” am chuckling in side right now, really… lots of ribs moving but I make no sound! WATCFC!

  • jebus says:

Not really that bad a result, for a newly formed team in their first ever league game to draw away at an established team is a good result.

It also maintains their record as Scotland only unbeaten team in their history, all one month of it.

  • Colin says:

First point for a newly formed team as Sevco make history with their first point from their first game in their first ever season in football!
The hacks will no doubt paper over the cracks but I am not blind Sevco will struggle against commited teams – Fact!

  • Grrry says:

They ‘retired’ the number 12 shirt in honour of their fans….they said……!

  • edward says:

McCoist is a real loser .He is unable to motivate players .Note that you have two foreign players Bocanegra and Goian who are still there. No secret contracts now Sevco, please.

  • cooptheTIM says:

Well done to glasgows newest smallest club on getting their 1st ever points. Congrats from your big neighbours CFC, Partick, Queens Park, and Pollok.

  • tallybhoy says:

Why are this mob calling themselves R#ngers, playing in the old colours and displaying the old crest (boak) with those ridiculous 5 stars?!

Surely Hector and BDO are watching this and thinking: ‘you cant do that!’

I’m hearing that BDO may be on the verge of declaring the sale of the oldco’s assets to Green and his mystery backers, as null and void! Do not know if there is any thruth in this but I would hope so!

    HH!!

  • sands1888 says:

Thats quite a nice gesture. That to honour the 12 season tickets sold,?
