Sevco are standing by Charles Greens’ claim that bigotry was the motivation for denying the club a place in the SPL then First Division.
Green made the claim after the extra-time win over Brechin in the Ramsdens Cup and has been charged by the SFA with bringing the game into disrepute.
Ally McCoist also faces a similar charge when he demanded that the names of an SFA panel be revealed when Rangers officials sat in on the hearing and were aware of the panels identity.
Sevco chairman Malcolm Murray said: “We are disappointed by the decision to convene disciplinary proceedings. The club has already provided the SFA with what it regards as a clear and compelling explanation of Mr Green’s remarks.
“We will defend both Ally McCoist and Charles Green vigorously at the respective hearings. In keeping with the principles of free speech we will defend the right for people to express their opinions in good faith.”
McCoist and Green will appear before the SFA on August 30.
Asked about the decision to place the club in Division 3 Green claimed: “Some of it has been driven by bigotry, some of its been driven by jealousy and some of its been driven by all the wrong motives.
“My frustration’s been, after 30 years of business, I have never experienced anything like the last three months.”
Sevco’s home match with Elgin could be shifted to a midweek after it clashed with Celtic’s home match with Hibs on September 1. The following day Glasgow hosts the Great Scottish Run which could see the Elgin match pushed to the midweek.

Do not expect any sort of punishment to be dished out here. The SFA are running scared of Green & Co. for reasons that are unclear as yet. The recent contorting to accomodate this poison in our league is clear evidence of that. The removal from office of the SFA is a pre requisite for a new and transparent governing body that is not under the influence of the Govan Mob. The sooner the better to avoid our game being run by Mr Green and the likes.

For Green to sight bigotry as the reason for servco starting in the 3rd division is bad enough.
For Murray to defend it beggars belief.

Well they know the score regarding bigotry and the hate that blossoms from it.

Living in govan i grew with up with bigotry.it hung over ibrox park like a badge of pride. Green you dont have a clue but the rest of pack know ok.shame on them disgraceful.
Sadly the way Newco and the Sevcovians have been treated so leniently for sure they’ll be back bigger and more bigoted than before.
Why the SFA have let them off basically scot free beggars belief. FFS their a new Club not the old RFC the media and Green and co are peddling this history remains crap day in day out.
Guaranteed they be back winning the premier league within a couple of seasons helped by the honest (mistake) referees, other than the tax man descends on them as being the same club and hits them with the EBT bill.
I believe we’ll get nothing off the bigoted refs this season or any other, anything we win will be hard fought for.
My one hope is we can get out of Scottish football for ever, then we can move on and progress as a club.
