Charles Green newsRent-a-quote Charlie Green has promised Motherwell a warm welcome to Ibrox in next week’s League Cup tie.

Motherwell will become the first SPL club to visit the home of the Third Division play-off chasers following the events of the summer when an SPL lifeline to Sevco was thrown out.

Kilmarnock were the only SPL club not to vote against Sevco with the Fir Park club amongst those that voted no to newco.

Green has spent the last few weeks rabble rousing in a desperate bid to inject money into the club with his promises of billionaire backers and a cash rich club falling by the wayside.

Taking time off from a four day four city fund raising trip to North America the former Sheffield United chief decided to praise Motherwell while dropping hints to Sevco fans that other SPL clubs won’t be on thrown the red carpet should he still be around if Sevco work their way into the SPL.

“We recognise what happened and when some of these clubs come to Ibrox they will be welcome,” Green stated before adding: “When others come, they won’t be so welcome.

“We know that Rangers are bigger than all of this so we ask the fans to get behind the club as they have done so well.

“I want them out there at the Motherwell game cheering, singing and waving the flags.

“Motherwell are a club who are suffering financially because Rangers are not in the SPL and we don’t believe that Motherwell are anti-Rangers.

“We believe that there was pressure; they were under pressure from their own fans and they took a decision and we understand that.

“If you had taken all of these external pressures away then Motherwell and other clubs would have voted differently.”

Despite claims of wanting to move on and pleasure at being given a Third Division place Green can’t contain his anger about the events of the summer when his newco found the SPL door closed.

He added: “What fans have to understand is what occurred at Hampden over our SPL status when 10 clubs voted against and one abstained.

“Ally and I sat there and we know what happened. We know that only half of those clubs wanted Rangers out of that league.

“I believe that a number of the clubs were bounced into it.

“Why, for example, would Ross County spend all their lifetime trying to get into the Premier League to find Rangers were not there? It’s inconceivable.

“But we understand what happened and we know the reasons behind it. We understand we have to suffer the punishment for the sins of the forefathers and we have done that.”

Sevco face a crucial week of matches including the visit of Montrose to Ibrox and vital cup ties against Motherwell and Highland League aces Forres Mechanics.

you left out the best quote of this ramble, ‘I seen the glint in the eyes’ … of those chairmen. FANtastic. remind me not to play poker with this wiley old fox

  • paranoidandroid says:

Like the wee guy in the film The Princess Bride, I don’t think Charlie knows what “inconceivable” means.

  • Harg says:

You weren’t bounced out. You’re a brand new club who were put in the only league available to new clubs.

  • sands1888 says:

Listen up chico you halfwit, you dont have any forefathers. You are a new club on the way to ruin. You have never been demoted and you will never get promoted either. Get used to the bottom tier. You might even last until the end of the season. It all depends on how long you can keep the hordes in the dark. And we all know that they are very very slow on the uptake

  • Kevboy says:

Correction Harg. They were given the chance to go into the SPL along with a transfer embargo but he felt hard done by, refused it and broke SFA and FIFA rules again by taking it to court instead of the court for arbitration of sport. That’s why Rangers are in the Third Division and not in the SPL because Green didn’t want to be in the SPL.

This guy is really stoking the embers of bigotry and people will end up hurt or worse because of his comments. It’s only fate that Rangers will meet Celtic soon and any trouble or injury will be on this guy’s head. He’s gone overboard with his rabble-rallying. He’s achieved what he wanted to achieve with it by Sevco fans buying season tickets, but this continued stirring of the pot and stone throwing is an unnecessary and dangerous manoevre coming from an Englishman who’s been in this country for 5 minutes and who says that we Scots are all stupid.

A wee hint of racism showing through there Charlie! Time to put down the megaphone and get on with saving your club. Let’s hope there’s no trouble from your fans which I’m sure would put off many professional investors.

    Deluded to the bitter end.

Can’t wait until the knuckle draggers are drawn away to an SPL team as you can be sure of a hostile welcome after the embarrassment they’ve caused Scottish football.

  • steviebhoy86 says:

I think this is just a ploy to prevent a boycott. With the gate receipt split in the cup, many sevconians will not buy tickets knowing one of “the enemy” that “kicked them out the SPL” was getting half there money. so emerald is trying to convince fans to turn out against well because they are ok, but if its (unnamed club) they are not welcome.

I live in Yorkshire and he’s definately one of them, BIG MOUTH NAE TROOZERS

  • Stevie says:

No way Chucky Green will be at the helm of zombie nation fc if they ever come back to the SPL.
How to pull a fast one over zombies shares anyone.

  • EH says:

    C.Green is a creep.

  • Willie Aitkenhead says:

Rentagub is clearly getting desperate to whip up the fans. Once his share issue falls flat again they will be in deeper trouble than ever and no-one to blame but themselves.

How does Chico know Motherwell didn’t want to vote NO or Ross County…did he get another of his famous nods like the CVA being accepted LOL.

His predictions make big fat Derek Johnstone look like a champion tipster.

  • Dougie Bhoy says:

“why would ross county… blah blah blah…” well chico, they wanted to be in amongst the big bhoys! something you cannot make a claim to and your club can no longer claim to be…. so ross county got what they wanted! everyones happy, except you!

  • GWG says:

this screw-ball is the most dangerous man in Scotland at present all this innuendo and whataboutary will end in unrest on the street of Glasgow with innocent people caught in the aftermath of his rantings.
Time Strathclyde’s finest was telling him to button it…… mind ya…. how can ya tell a Yorkshire man …… ya canny tell him anything

  • Ed Dunne says:

Charles. Just like to point out that Motherwell voted not to allow your new team into the SPL because it was what their FANS wanted not because they were being held over a barrell by any of the clubs you fear to mention. You are desperate for a cash injection and you cannot afford to let the TRFC fans boycott,as is their chosen tactic, this game. The technical term for the position you and your new company find yourselves in is FUCKED.Stop spouting your vile pish around the world and try telling the poor hordes the truth. Or have you now gone too far?

  • Flamebhoy8 says:

Opinions please…does anyone want sevco to bt motherwell next week to give us a chance of playing them, I can’t decide. The fun of watching fat Sally with folded arms as they lose to m’well or watching us put 6 (at least) past them, and there hoards walking away.

    • Mark McGhee says:

It is always nice to see them out early but I would give my right arm for us to get them at Ibroxs put ten by them and watch the so called people walk away before fat Sally gets the bullet then green sells the assets and we never see that team again or have to listen to that little gobshite again.

Well I can dream……on the other hand would like to see them finish the season but not get out the third division would be hilarious….
      HH

      • Flamebhoy8 says:

Lol, let’s start some sort of online good luck sevco campaign….then a mass prayer pre cup draw to get them. Lol ALLY MUST STAY!!!

  • StandAndDeliver says:

Romanov comes out with delusional, random statements and is the laughing stock of the MSM, Green does it on a daily basis and is treated like a respectable, intelligent, reasonable, opinionated, successful businessman. Annoying, but quite funny at times.

  • sands1888 says:

Never want to play them ever again in any form, they are scum and they need ties with us, we dont need them, never mind the papers plastered with old firm this and that. Old firm will never be valid again. So no pal, never want tgat shower of inbreds near us again

  • paul colfer says:

all this bitterness about not being in spl i thought they said thats what they wanted

  • Fat Sally Flan Club says:

Grubby Green is not of this planet. A bigoted rabble rouser who has no a clue about what makes Scottish fans unique. I personally will be happy when this clown eventually falls. And trust me, he will.

  • Jimmy McGovern says:

I cannot begin to explain my contempt for such a see through character such as Charlie here. His rhetoric may fool the English, but up here we have more savvy than to fall into the name calling game that he thrives upon.

I would suggest he pack his wee bag, take his one suit and wire in. All the way back to sheep sh*gging Yorkshite where he belongs.

    • Kenny McCaffrey says:

Couldn’t agree more Jimmy – especially after reading what Joe’s posted today. Lying little nyaff. I’ve been in England for 25 years and if ever there was a county for bigots, Yorkshire’s the place.

Green should be charged with incitement to public disorder – giving it the big one to sell tickets is once thing, but this annoying wee shyster (or shite-stirrer) is taking us back to Paisley and ‘Dirty Wee Pastor’ Jack Glass, with a touch of Joe McCarthy thrown in. Wouldn’t surprise me to see adverts for days out at Ibrox on websites run by the BNP and EDL. Run this horrible little man out of town.
