Charles Green has earned the ridicule of football fans south of the border with his latest attacks on three Premiership clubs.
Southampton, Aston Villa and Swansea were singled out by the Sevco mouthpiece in his latest blast aimed at convincing supporters to buy into his plans for a share flotation.
“Arsenal don’t want to play Southampton or Swansea, but ask them if they want to play Celtic or Rangers,” Green claimed. “It’s what the fans want to see.
“How can Manchester United’s revenues be £320m and Aston Villa, who are completely useless, get £250m?”
‘Useless’ Villa had a turnover of £92m but detail has never been one of Green’s strengths after being given a nod of approval from HMRC for his CVA proposal and encouraged by the SPL to apply for membership.
While Swansea and Southampton have had financial troubles in the last decade neither club was liquidated.
Readers of the Birmingham based here in the city website were asked for opinions with Jacob suggesting: “He needs to learn some respect because he won’t get very far if he starts making enemies out of so many innocent clubs. Completely unprovoked and random attack brought on by jealousy.”
Another contributor, Simmo, added: “If Rangers played a team located in England, lets say for instance Berwick Rangers, I think they would struggle..”
Green’s vision for the future went down just as well on the Southampton based Daily Echo.
SO50Saint was first to reply with: “Just because we took their best player. Still hurting after a 1-0 defeat to the mighty Stirling last weekend.”
Alicesdad added: “ What a pompous silly little man. It’s people like him that led to Hadrians wall being built.
“He’s rather like the cartoon of the idiot woodchopper who is in a tree sawing away on the branch that is supporting him. He is in for a fall and doesn’t know it yet.
Hdg end mo said: “Rangers wereone of the elite teams in Scottish football before corrupt owners fleeced them dry they deserved everything they got sounds like mr green is bitter mr green enjoying your 3rd division trips whilst your dear friends at Celtic enjoy champions league football and the financial rewards.”

I realise it is a strange concept for them, as they have structured their entire organisation around this club, and that they are at a loss as to how to deal with their favourite sons. Pretty ambitious for a Scottish Third Division club if you ask me! Especially one which is only around six months old! As a totally new club, I suspect they will need to learn to walk honestly before they try to run with the big boys. I also suspect thy have also great big first birthday p,ans coming nextvyear too.
