Henrik Larsson believes that Celtic can take something from Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.
The Swedish superstar is revered by both sets of supporters after seven glorious goal-scoring years in the hoops topped off by a stint in the Nou Camp where he turned around the 2006 Champions League Final against Arsenal.
Barcelona have been leaking goals all season with Larsson believing that Celtic can cash in on Tino Vilanova’s defensive problems.
“Right now you can upset Barcelona a little because they are without Carles Puyol and maybe Gerard Pique too,” he explained.
“Daniel Alves has only just come back so it is not the back four that Barca would love to have.
“You saw it in the first game at set-pieces they were a little bit short and there is no doubt they are missing Pique and Puyol who are used to competing in the air.
“Every time a Celtic player gets on the ball the roar will go up – and when the players do the huddle it will be something special, even for the Barcelona players. You are not going to be able to hear yourself speak.”
Larsson was a team-mate of Celtic’s management team of Neil Lennon and Johan Mjallby and believes that the hoops duo are taking the club in the right direction.
He added: “I’m sure Lenny and Johan Mjallby are trying to build something like O’Neill did.
“They will want to leave their mark on the team. Both are so competitive and tactically aware and will be trying to impose that on their team.
“They are trying to rebuild something that was very good and make it even better. To go to Barcelona and almost upset them is important for the manager and players. It shows they are on the right path.
“I have a lot of feeling for both clubs but it was the right time for me to move on from Celtic.
“I wanted to leave while I still had something to offer. I dreamt of going to Barca but never thought I would get a chance. But fortunately I was wrong.”

The fact is that at celtic park,we can beat anyone in football and I count Real Madrid among that statement.I agree that barca are a superb team, but lets not forget they are human beings and not robots so lets keep a sense of realism about this game.We need to win and I think we can and will .
I agree with Henrik, Celtic are a team to be scared off, with 60000 fans singing thier hearts out. If the fans get right behind the bhoys from the start, dont get on their backs at all but continuouslly cheer and sing them along we can get a result……..more so when Barca’s defence is kinda suspect at set pieces …due to thier hight disadvantage……cmon the tick
Taking into consideration that barca have 1 foot in with 9 points and can afford to draw or lose 2 games and still qualify if they win 1 game from the remaining futures, I am going for an upset. Barca have one eye the la liga as both the Madrid teams are close behind gives me a believe celtic may beat barca tomorrow. With odds at 9 for each dollar you punt, why not? Luck favors those who are bold
