Neil Lennon newsNeil Lennon has revealed that he’s met up with the supporter he argued with during the 1-0 defeat from Inverness Caley Thistle.

The sight of Lennon having an exchange with a fan dominated the headlines with the Celtic boss claiming that he’d walk away from the club if he wasn’t wanted.

Lennon relented on that comment later in the week and explained that he has met up with his critic to resolve the matter.

“He doesn’t really have to apologise for anything,” the Celtic boss said. “I think by coming to the club he was trying to defuse the situation because the photographs made him out to be the protagonist, which he wasn’t.

So we’ve dealt with that already and there will be no problem when I go to the dugout.”

Looking at the his selection options the Celtic boss added: “We must get it right at home and with a bit of freshness coming into the team maybe that will perk the side up a bit.

“I’m hoping for a positive performance and a result. I’m hoping we can shake that monkey off our back and get back to winning ways at home.

“There’s no reason why we can’t. Our home form over the last 10 years has been pretty good so we’re just in a short-term lull at the moment.

“So we’ll have a strong team out. Rogne is fit so he might figure and McGeouch is in contention while Zaluska might get a runout. We will have Victor Wanyama, Gary Hooper, Lassad and Adam Matthews in the squad and Emilio Izaguirre is fit.

“It is a strong squad. I’m mindful of some of the players needing a rest for Wednesday but we will go strong tomorrow.

“We have an obligation to the fans and an obligation to Arbroath to do that. I don’t want anyone thinking we are taking this game or the cup lightly.”

We don’t want / need excuses / apologies – we want action where it matters ON the park. Any crap about being tired / feeling pressure etc is just that 100% crap. Celtic should be able to field and Under 21s side more than capable of beating such as Arbroath with something to spare. Too many living the easy life in the comfort zone, well paid and not having to work hard for their money.

Lennon better not play the resignation card AGAIN, heard it too often as it is. A good manager makes the most of his resources, we have far in excess of ANY other side in Scotland, but recent results at home would indicate otherwise.

Any player who expected to play v Spartak would be making sure he didn’t get a stupid injury or putting in too much effort, so we get a low key training / walkabout with about 3-4 players carrying the rest.

If players don’t want to put in a real shift, get them out the door in January. Nothing surer if they do it once, they will do it again. This “short term lull” has been ongoing since August, our home form in majority of games has been abysmal….time EVERYONE in the dressing room got the message loud & clear….step up or ship out, that includes management.

Don’t simply throw jerseys to guys who might need a game, only play those who DESERVE the jersey. I’d rather play a young kid than play a passenger who is cheating his team-mates / fans with lack of sheer effort.

Talk is cheap Neil, we can see with our own eyes, that team should have come out 2nd half fired up for a CL final not more slow motion, powder puff garbage.

Ferguson showed the way yesterday, 30 mins and hauled off the crappy Rafael, yet we wait 45-60-70 mins before doing anything week in / week out. Not good enough, not even nearly good enough and more hot air isn’t fixing things.
