Dundee have appointed John Bomber Brown as their interim manager!
Brown will be in charge of the dark blues against Celtic less than a year after leading the doomed campaign to starve Charles Green out of Ibrox.
Barry Smith was sacked in midweek with the club sitting at the foot of the SPL with Brown seeing off competition
from Billy Dodds, Gus MacPherson and Jimmy Calderwood for the job.
Brown’s only managerial experience was a non descript two year period in charge of Clyde that ended in April 2010 after leaving a coaching job at Ibrox.
Green’s Ibrox takeover last June thrust Brown back into the limelight forcing him to resign from the scouting job he held at Ibrox which helped identify Matt McKay, Juan Ortiz and Mervan Celik.
Green has surrendered,” Brown told 80,000 fans on the steps of Ibrox in July. “I think Peter Lawwell had a dream about keeping Rangers in the SPL, but only if he could make sure they would never have any chance of winning
the title by giving them a points deduction for the next few seasons.
“That keeps the value of the SPL for Celtic and means they can maintain a big budget for players, so they can not only win the SPL, but also have a really good chance of getting into the Champions League groups for the next four years.
“That would bring Celtic in almost £100million and all the while Rangers would have to pay SPL wages while being banned from Europe for the next three years and also having no chance of winning the title.
“By also surrendering and agreeing to the SFA transfer embargo, Green will leave Rangers in with no players and Ally McCoist will actually face a fight to avoid relegation.
Brown added: “Right now I am putting in place the best legal team we can get, so that, we can do this in a proper corporate way, with supporters knowing that when they put money in to buy themselves a share in Rangers, their cash is safe.
“My plan will put Rangers men in charge of Rangers. The type of people who will not surrender to Peter Lawwell and Celtic the way Green has surrendered to them.”

I can see quite a few players looking for the exit gate as soon as the transfer window opens. Dundee have really gone off the radar with this appointment. Doesn’t auger well for any long term strategy unless they think he can kick their way out of trouble.
Sorry Dundee but you have just sealed your fate and could well struggle to get back next season. Panic must have set in at Dens, blind leading the blind.
