Gary Hooper Celtic newsGary Hooper has his sights set on lifting the double, a fairly likely scenario if the markets are anything to go by.

The striker won the Scottish Cup in his first season at Celtic then picked up the SPL title last season.

With this season’s title almost within reach the Scottish Cup semi-final with Dundee United on April 14 is the biggest date on the Celtic calendar.

Hooper picked up Sunsports Golden Boot for being the first striker to reach 25 goals but wants to finish the season sharing honours with his team-mates.

“We have the SPL title and a Scottish Cup to play for between now and the end of the season,” he stated.

“We will be doing all we can to bring these trophies to Celtic Park for our fans, to thank them for their support.

“I’m delighted to win this award and obviously I’m really happy to have scored 25 goals this season but the whole team played a part in helping me score these goals, so this is an award for my Celtic team-mates as well as myself.”

Hooper added: “We have had a great season so far. We’ve built up a good lead in the SPL and are in the Scottish Cup semi.

“We have also enjoyed some great performances and results at the highest level in Europe. All we want to do is keep going and all I want to do is keep scoring for Celtic.”

Fifteen of Hooper’s 25 goals have come from 23 plus two substitute appearances in the SPL.
