Sevco plan £100m a year turnover

|

Charles Green news

A week after posting unaudited losses of £1m a month Sevco have announced plans to take their turnover to £100m a year.

The Third Division newcomers are on course to clinch the title within a month with finance director Brian Stockbridge revealing exciting plans in a statement issued throughThe Herald.

When [Rangers] did its own retail it made £20.5m turnover and £5.6m profit just from merchandising,” Stockbridge claimed. “But because the club needed money, it gave it to JJB and took an upfront payment, then took the £3m annual licensing fee.

So, let’s say if we can only do as good as £20m [even] with Mike Ashley as our partner, with Puma and with internet sales, then suddenly we are looking at £80m to £90m turnover.

Then you look at the additional sponsorship possibilities and think it would be nice to get it to £100m, but even then I wouldn’t think my job would be done at that point, as it could go on beyond that.”

Over the last fortnight Sevco announced new deals with Puma and Blackthorn Cider with no figures put on the agreements.

Stockbridge explained: “ The Puma deal is a very good one. Typically, a manufacturer pays upfront and will claw that back at the end through the shirt prices.

With Puma, I negotiated that we get a very high royalty rate on everything, even what we sell in the shop here at Ibrox.”

On Saturday Sevco lost 2-1 at home to Annan Athletic with the team booed off the park at the final whistle.

Not only snake oil for sale, bullsh1t to.
Who would fall for this crap, o eye the Sevco fan would ably convinced by the Scottish media, haven’t we heard this story before.
Walking into another share issue with increased season ticket prices I would think.
The media connect Champions League with Sevco often enough and their convinced, yet Annan take them apart at ibrokes.
All this to be achived with a team that need upwards of 18 new quality players with a 30% wage budget of turnover.
Moonbeams and succulent lamb are back on the menu, will they ever learn.
Joining the English leagues you say, well Chuck best if luck with that one.

Gotta love this piece of nonsense. The current Champions of Scotland have bigger crowds with more season ticket holders paying more money, CL football, player sales, much higher shirt deal, much higher sponsorship deal and we cant get to £100m yet this guy thinks that he is goinjg to make £60m a year from Puma. Now, I am a bit of a cynic, can’t help that, but if Man Utd, Barca and Real Madrid cannot turn that kind of money and they are already being paid £30m+ from the sponsor then where does Brian get his figure from. I wonder if he went to the same school of economics as the last board. I have a great idea, go and borrow the £100m to get yourselves back to the SPL and then when you realise that you were talking nonsense then you can always liquidate and start again.

Turnover is for show. Profit is for dough!

  • mark says:

What’s the point in turning over £100m then paying out £110m only in zombie land is that good business. The huns must wish clowns at sevco would just shut up and do things on the QT like us do the business first then shout about it the huns are an embarrassment to there own Haha HH

  • Stevie says:

Wonder how many teams in the EPL have a turnover of over £100 million with vast TV deal.
It’s not that hard to delude the deluded, Charlie boy must just love these fools.

  • wolverine says:

At least they’re showing a bit of ambition- whose to say it can’t be done? Just because it’s not been done before doesn’t mean it can’t be done at all. Maybe they can see avenues and revenue streams that have been ignored by the likes of Lawell & co? If Lennon keeps up a record of six or seven defeats a season (including a lot of draws) without Rangers as rivals then when they do get here we will have problems- even if they do have a bunch of diddy’s in their team (all they have to do is keep beating the SPL fodder) whilst we stumble from one disaster to another.
Look what the Cardigan did with a garbage team full of expensively assembled diddy’s- we couldn’t beat a team with Broadfoot, Miller, McCulloch et al- whether we like it or not Rangers are here to stay and they will always be right up our arses; their insane hatred of us always makes them hungry and gives them something of an advantage.
It does worry me how accepting of defeat Celtic fans are becoming- I could accept it if we were playing great attacking football, but we’re dire to watch at times- and when it does happen they say “We’re gonni win the league anyway” or “Bit at least we’re no is bad as Sevco”. Could this acceptance of defeat become culturally entrenched in the club throughout the staff, players and fans- then where would we be?
    It’s becoming a bit tedious.

A typical response from someone who calls themselves “sands”- why is it bigots/racists are always obsessed with their object of hates hygiene? Very sad. There are fans and there are “fanatics” and its the latter who breach no criticism ( maybe a description of how things are can be misconstrued by the paranoid as ‘criticism’)of the team- its getting to the point where you are being coercively censored by Celtic fans for expressing an alternative view. Let’s face, amongst many of the uber fans Lennon has been deified, and is beyond reproach no matter how bad we do- having any reasonable dialogue with some fans is just not possible.

        • mark says:

what’s wrong with the name sands ? how can you call anybody a bigot/racist ya stupid knuckle dragger ffs they call us obsessed all you cunts go on about is Neil lennon your fear is all there to see. we have lenny you have the fat game show host says it all. HH

        • wolverine says:

What has Bobby Sands got to do with a football site- or Celtic for that matter? Its guys like you who are up in arms when they wheel out some clown in an Orange strip or offended when they sing their sectarian songs and yet its all right for us to do the same? Mark its time to get off the sanctimonious saddle on your high horse. Why do knuckledraggers on either side of the moronic divide always use the word ‘cunt’ in their discourses with an interloper? Lennon has a courage, a character and a strength I could only dream of (after what he has been subjected to)- or even Ally for that matter- but that does not mean he is beyond criticism as a football manager. I try and be fair minded and objective in how I see things but with fanatics like yourself its impossible to have intelligent debate without it degenerating into hysterical overreaction and slanging matches.

        • sands1888 says:

The name always catches out huns who by default are of limited intelligence, bampot

    • mark says:

Whats wolverine got to do with Celtic ? Am not on any horse not my style. Couldn’t care less what colour of strip or what song you sing your type could never offend me. not sure what ally has been through must have missed that was greggs shut or something ? and yes I am a Celtic fanatic why would it bother you ? your 100% zombie HH

nondisclosure of sponsorship finance deals why? because Celtic`s Deals are too good to compete with in the face of the zombie nation, `Puma` – the last time i allowed myself to be seen in a puma top was when I was painting, nearly 10 years ago. I wouldnt dress my boy in puma then send him to school or watever, Mike ashley`s a smart man, he must know his `sports direct` brand will be on hun tops as they destroy peaceful town and villages (when they get the chance) what a complete tosser.

    • Gerry says:

And contrary to usual business practice & in face of negative cash flow, its s good thing NOT to get paid upfront…..!

  • Gerry says:

I plan to have £20m in the bank after the next two nation lottery draws.

  • jaztecc says:

of course they’ll get these profits,it’s simples get the zombies to pay £100 per strip which they will coz there dumb, then the next year change the sponsor name on the strip and charge the same muppets another £100 for the same strip different sponsor(blackthorn 1 year sponsors)i’m sure they’ll get the sponsor name on the socks and shorts so they’ll need to change them too

Hunspeak – that all. Kets worry about the complete dross thats on the pitch and has been for the last three years – NL is a great guy but what a woeful coach. Really worried – haven’t seen (despite what everyone says about Barcelona)such a badly coached Celtic team ever. say what you want about Barnes, Lou Mac etc. but those were bad teams, bad coached etc. They never had the rope that NL has had. Team is utterly bereft of imagination, creativity and talent both on the field and in the coaching department. Pick apart the hin speak all you want but it is Celtic that needs the critiques at the moment

  • yogI says:

Now let us be objective here.We do not have a player with any guile or creative ability in offensive midfield.Second,Too many defensive midfeiders pulling out of tackles. The goalkeeper is a coward. This is where games are won and lost and am I somehow viewed as being a poor Celtic fan because I ask that these areas be addressed.?.The man who can remedy this is obviously the manager since he picks the team and tolerates these guys. What is the problem some of you have with criticism.?

    • KevinBarry says:

It’s no with the criticism – I do it all the time. Barnes spent a fortune and made a cunt of it. Remember NL has only spent what he has sold.
I kinda agree with the lack of creative midfielders but who was the last one we had? Mcgeady? Who else? Naka? At times u would forget naka was playin. Who else? Juninho? Massive failure. Remember that Lenny is probably tryin emulate MON but with his own stamp. MON never had any creative midfielders – it was all hard workers. That’s probably the way NL likes it.
Defensive midfielders pulling out of tackles? Who? When?
GK is a coward? What about the point blank save from messi that caused messi to almost trample over him? Ok FF doesn’t come out for a lot of corners but goalkeepers are changing. I remember the days goal keepers would try to catch the ball but now a punch or a parry seems more beneficial prob due to the lightweight balls.

      • yogI says:

Kevin ,We havent replaced lubo, and it doesnt look like we will,Miku,Lassad, all pull out of tackles on a regular basis. Foster is a coward,I say again. First Goal against Juve, the striker should have been in the front stand and gamble that the ref wont award a penalty.there are too many to list Watch Him.

    • wolverine says:

Yogi you must be a hun!

Seriously though, I don’t automatically judge anyone on the premise he or she is a Celtic/Rangers fan (there are plenty of arseholes on either side- the comments on this page prove that)but some of the clowns on either side actually believe everyone on the otherside of the divide is an instrument of Satan. Its truly pathetic and the main reason I rarely ever go onto websites, these trolls are everywhere.

They cannot even begin to contemplate an alternative view of their own. What a narrow range of experience they must have. Personally I back to the team 100% on the pitch no matter what- as negativity at the time only makes things worse- but afterwards I think everyone is entitled to have an opinion or alternative view. This is a basic courtesy in even a decent society but is a crime in the eyes of a fanatic wherever you go in this world.

The man with one eye can only see from one side.

      • KevinBarry says:

I’m more than happy for people to have opposing views, as I say – I do it all the time. In fact I think I’m the only Celtic fan the doesn’t like hooper! (Think I was spoiled with the likes of hartson, larsson, Sutton etc for too long. I think tommy Johnson was a better player than hooper is) All my point is that I don’t see any basis for most of the stuff the guy said. I didn’t say he was wrong but I gave examples of why I think he’s wrong! Burn the witch eh?…

Cut from the same cloth mate HH

  • Sweeney Hughes says:

So basically the huns are bragging about having the same deal with Puma as Henke had with Umbro!!!
We’ve got one of the best CEOs in the business, they’ve got a guy who thinks having what amounts to a ‘sale or return’ deal instead of a proper sponsorship deal is something to shout about and he’s so clever all he has to say is that it’s going to earn them 100mill and he’s Heralded (literally) as a genius.
Now that is genius, not only that, apparently it’s also so ambitious that the rest of its planet football should be standing on it’s back-legs clapping its flippers!!

Did I mention their manager is sleekit sally?
    COMEDY GOLD.
