Sevco have sacked Fran Sandaza.
The two weeks after being suspended by the club for discussing his contract in public the Spanish striker has been sacked less than a year into his four year contract.
Notorious wind-up merchant Tommy from Glasgow posed as a Los Angles based agent discussing a switch to the MSL.
During the call Sandaza revealed that the final year of his contract was worth £10,000 a week with the remainder of his contract worth close to £1m.
A Sevco statement tonight said: “RANGERS announced today that the Club has decided to terminate its contract with Francisco Sandaza. The player has been advised of the situation.
“Francisco spoke at length to someone posing as an agent and engaged in a conversation which the Club believes to be a material breach of his contract of employment.
“The player was suspended but after careful consideration and a hearing with Francisco and his representatives, the Club, and our advisors, believe that dismissal is the appropriate course of action.
“The termination is subject to the right of appeal under SFL rules and there will be no further comment from Rangers on this issue.”
Sandaza is certain to call in PFA Scotland with Fraser Wishart a key figure in contractual disputes with the now liquidated Rangers over the last 12 months.
A compromise pay-off is likely to be reached suitable to both sides allowing Charlie Green to continue with his plan to slash running costs at Ibrox.
In the last few weeks Green has got rid of Kevin Kyle, physio Pip Yates and star spotter Neil Murray.

It smacks of desperation from Chuckles. No doubt, the spineless whisperer will once-again maintain an undignified silence. Whatever your thoughts on Sandaza (ie, he’s a Sevco player), it is a disgraceful decision, and Fat Sally as a so-called man of principle, should say so. Thats him the scout, alexander next, trying to get the outgoings down as much as possible, could it be that the debt free club with 20 odd million in bank has no money to keep afloat? surely not this honest bunch, surely they wouldnt lie to there loyal fans?
I’m not sure whose conduct is worse in this situation – the ‘wind up merchant’, who has taken advantage of a bloke trying to earn a living by duping him into revealing sensitive information in a phone call in his second language, or the management of Rangers, who have clearly seized upon an opportunity to get rid of a player who hasn’t performed and is too expensive for their situation. If you listen to the interview, Sandaza doesn’t say anything that you wouldn’t expect any footballer to say when called with such an offer, and the ‘funny man’ should be ashamed of what he has done. This isn’t Ashley Cole we’re talking about, it’s a jobbing Spanish pro, trying to earn money whilst his legs still have it in them. Charles Green et al should be equally ashamed of their shameless opportunism.

Actually this was funny when it happened, but not so funny now.
The truth is it gave green an opening to cut the wage bill. Let’s be frank here, the only reason they have turfed the guy is to cut the wage bill, no other reason. In fact, I bet he takes then to the cleaners for it. I also believe the player was as dim as a box of broken lightbulbs to get caught out like that. But it is what it is and green gets his iwsh. there are too many people being shown the door at the moment to be anything but planned and necessary. But you have to give them credit, for a club, brand new to the game, not yet a year old, they have had some success. McCoist is probably safe though because who else would want that job at the tenner a week they must be paying him?
I expect more sackings in the coming weeks.The Newco are skint and will use any excuse to clear the decks.
