Celtic youth newsThe new look SPFL has invited Sevco/Rangers International into this season’s u-20 league.

Celtic won the last four SPL titles with last season’s competition also featuring three sides from the Scottish Football League.

As well as last season’s Third Division winners, Falkirk, Hamilton Accies and Dunfermline will also take part in the competition with no place for relegated Dundee.

Celtic will open their campaign at home to Dundee United on August 6 but have still to confirm where their home games will take place.

Last season the hoops were based at Firhill but with Partick Thistle involved again this season the pitch would be unable to cope with the additional fixtures.

With 16 teams involved each club will have 30 fixtures to play with all matches scheduled for Tuesday’s but that can be subject to change.

The final fixtures before Christmas are scheduled for December 17 with the first games of the new year due on January 21 however the festive period can be used to play off postponed fixtures.

Celtic’s first Glasgow derby of the season will be on September 9 away to Partick Thistle with the first clash of the season with the Ibrox side coming on November 12.

Under Stevie Frail and John Kennedy Celtic won the title, and the domestic double, for the fourth season running last year with the SFA Youth Cup collected in a 3-1 win over Dunfermline Athletic at Hampden.

Last season was the first at the u-20 age group with clubs allowed to field three overage players as well as a goalkeeper of any age.

I think Joe must be getting a small return for having it on the site m8.
Just pause or mute it, a lot of footy sites have similar set-ups.
