lennon flag Adam Matthews and Georgios Samaras are in the Celtic side to face St Johnstone today with Nir Biton and Teemu Puuki dropping onto the bench.

Samaras appeared as a second half substitute in the 2-0 win over Hearts on Saturday while Matthews returns from injury to appear on the right of the Celtic midfield.

Celtic go into the match unbeaten in 16 SPFL matches this season with Neil Lennon hoping to extend that run in the final two fixtures of the year against St Johnstone and away to Inverness Caley Thistle on Sunday.

Looking forward to the match Lennon said: “St Johnstone at home can beat anyone, they are a very good side and have been very consistent in the last couple of years,” he said.

“If you look at the resilience they have, they were away to Hibs and down to 10 men for a long period, and didn’t get beat, so they are a very tough nut to crack.

“And we know Inverness are having a great season. They will probably be disappointed with the result against Aberdeen but their comeback in the second half was fantastic.”

After scoring against Hearts James Forrest is on the bench but likely to feature at some stage.

After his goal on Saturday Lennon said: “It gives everyone a huge lift to see him fit and healthy. He gets people off their seats, with not just his goals but his all-round play on Saturday was brilliant and I really enjoyed watching him.”

Sammy, would have been as well sitting on the bench.
Made heavy weather of this game.More chances squandered.Big Virgil was scoring at one
end and keeping them out at the other. He is a class act.

Oh for a couple of quality strikers,Sammy’s gone ( literally ) Stokes drifts too much, and the
least said about Blade (YTS ) and Pukki ( shy boy ) the better.
What about Uncle Peter giving us a belated Christmas pressie in the transfer window ?

He isn’t Mr.Scrooge after all. With free tickets for the derby, free buses ( as long as you don’t
have a flag )Maybe we’ll get the strikers we’re looking for.
However,as pistol Pete lawwell is in this FREE caring mood, which the FREEBIES arrive at CP.

PS. Well done the mighty Stranraer, even with Dallas Jr giving dodgy penalty.

if peter lawwell cant see what we can see no out andout striker then he will see lots of empty seats between now and the end of the season
