campbell ogilvieDamning new evidence has emerged of the role played by Campbell Ogilvie in Rangers EBT case with suggests that the SFA President withheld evidence from Lord Nimmo Smith’s EBT enquiry.

Ogilvie was a director of Rangers when the EBT tax scheme was introduced which allowed the Ibrox side to make enormous ‘tax free loans’ to entice players to Ibrox which gave them a transfer advantage over other clubs in Scotland and European competitions.

The BBC published a list of those that benefited from EBT payments with Ogilvie finally admitting that he received a £95,000 EBT payment when he left Ibrox, two months later he was appointed a director of Hearts to ensure his continuing presence on the SFA gravy train.

The dedicated band of internet bampots behind the Scottish Football Monitor website have been busy uncovering evidence of those involved in the various Ibrox tax scams and yesterday new evidence appeared of how closely involved President Ogilvie was.

Originating from The Huddleboard a letter allegedly from HMRC to former Rangers director Mike McGill in February 2011 lays out the extent of the evidence against the Ibrox club with Ogilvie’s fingerprints all over the schemes.

The documentation reveals that as well as being paid through the Discount Option Scheme (wee tax case) Tore Andre Flo and Ronald de Boer were also paid through EBT’s. Flor received £450,000 on 30 November 2000 then £700,000 12 months later. De Boer was paid 1,000,000 Dutch gulders, approximately £270,000 with the payments later switched to euros.

De Boer and Flo were given letters detailing their payments on the day that they signed for Rangers with Ogilvie the company secretary, director and SFA office bearer at the time.

According to SFA laws all contractual payments made to players should be notified to the SFA. Sandy Bryson put up an argument that no competitive advantage was gained but the allegation from Inland Revenue/HMRC suggests that the EBT payments were put in place alongside the basic contracts accepted by the SFA.

ogilvie will still be on office next year……

  • Monti says:

I have said it before & I’ll say it again…..the game is broken & can only recover when the SFA have been brought down!
    Starting with Ogilvie!

    Lies,Lies and Damned Lies.And I don’t
    mean the Lying King.

So,LNS was lied to in order to save the
    CHEATING club.
DOS and EBT’s were NOT salary payments
    A complete and utter farce.Having a.lower
    basic,to have these sweeteners,should
have been an open and shut GUILTY verdict.
Here’s hoping HMRC’s Appeal wil now be
    vindicated.

As for Sandy Bryson (sounds like one of
them ) ” no competitive advantage was
    gained ”
    Really ?
Would the players have come,if that scam
    was not set up ?
Also, could the cheating club have afforded
these players,if they also had to pay Employer’ NI contributions for EACH of
    these players ?

LIAR’S and CHEATS that is who is running
    ( ruining ) our game !!

    • Raymy says:

      “one of them”

      ??

    • Eastside says:

The defence at the FTTT openly stated they couldn’t have afforded these players without paying through the EBT’s. It’s an absolute disgrace and Celtic’s silence is becoming increasingly unacceptable.

  • sidplay says:

My anger has changed from the cheats at the SFA to Celtic’s board of directors who are giving out the signal that they are happy to accept this. This is driving away fans who want nothing to do with a corrupt game. It is time for action Celtic.

    • thomas cochrane says:

I,m in total agreement Celtic are covering thier asses on this, they are desparate to get that mob back in the top flight.Instead of trying to get to the bottom of this horror show they have been complicit by their silence.Lawell ? what…if anything….is being held back by our board, are they so afraid Irvine ?? or keeping their powder dry I would like to think so ! but it,s been too long a silence for me.5 way agreement ! is there anything lurking in it waiting to embaress us in that mess…….time will tell.

    • drawcab says:

Celtic are keeping out of it because they don’t have to get involved.

When your troublesome neighbour is burning there house down then you don’t need to arrive with a litre if petrol to help.

Neither do you call the fire brigade.

      Which makes you think.

Over the years unsuccesfull pubs and nightclubs in need of repair have mysteriously gone ablaze.

Hope this isn’t gonna happen to the pleasuredome .

  • O'Cahan says:

With all this evidence and still the SFA continue to bury their heads in the sand. What a shower they all are !!!
Surely if HMRC’s appeal is successful, they should contact all the many reciprients of this tax deception for unpaid tax. Maybe they can’t take the knickers off a bare arse ( servco) but by defination, Messers Oglivie, De Boer, Flo, Gazza, wee Barry , Sleekit and co must also be liable, and be made to cough up ££££ in their bank accounts..
HMRCdo hound anyone on PAYE who owes unpaid tax to to them, so , what’s the differience ???
    keep the Faith HH

  • Wulz88 says:

Monti and Peters comments say it all really, all we want is a level playing field for all, no special treatment for the brethren !

    • Monti says:

There should be an inquiry into LNS verdict, no sporting advantage?FFS, does he not understand the whole cheating scam was ONLY EVER ABOUT GAINING A SPORTING FKN ADVANTAGE!

      • peter says:

        I agree,Monti.

But it was ALSO done to try and WIN the
        European Cup.

They FAILED big time on that front.
And look at the STATE they find themselves in,as a result.

  • Eastside says:

Every Clubs fans should boycott season tickets until Ogilvy is removed and all details and evidence of discussions/communication between Regan, Doncaster, Bryson and Ogilvy regarding this situation are made public and investigated.
Are there no legal routes available for fans to confront this blatant corruption? Surely fans can pool their money and pay for legal representation for fans sick and tired of this?

  • Andybhoy says:

It’s time this was taken to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and investigated properly. Ogilvie and the SFA can no longer be allowed to stage manage this and steer investigations down roads of their choosing by hand picking individuals to sit in judgement and make rulings. The conclusions reached by the LNS inquiry and the debacle of RIFC being allowed to investigate themselves must also be investigated by CAS.

As UEFA’s unwillingness to get involved is nothing short of a dereliction of duty the only way Scottish football can rid itself from this corruption and those who have corrupted it is to call on people outside the game with no vested interest or connection to those at the SFA. CAS seems to be the best and only option of doing this.

  • jinky44 says:

The MSM have continually refused to discuss or report the roll Ogilvie played in the EBT scandal.

Get this 2 faced liar out of Scottish football.

Ps that will give him more time to attend his ludge meetings!!

I don’t know what the answer to this level of constant gerrymandering and absolute corruption in favour of ONE SINGLE FOOTBALL CLUB is but I do know one thing. This cannot continue into the coming years and decades as it has done over the past thirty, forty years. Something must be done and done soon if we are not to turn our future generations off the game altogether.

Perhaps this is what Regan and Doncaster meant when they said that there would be ‘Armageddon’ if the CHEAT’s were not allowed into the then SPL. Is this to be seen as a POLICY statement by the SFA? That if their beloved Sevco rangers are not going to be allowed to get away with having thee privileged position in Scottish football then the SFA WILL MAKE SURE THAT THE GAME IS BURIED ALONGSIDE THEIR RANGERS SO THAT ‘THEY’ WILL BE ON A PAR ONCE AGAIN WITH THE REST OF SCOTTISH FOOTBALL WITH ALL THAT THIS ENTAILS?

It would seem to me to make complete sense that without their beloved Sevco Rangers that the mighty institutions in Scotland don’t much care about the rest of Scottish football. Just look at the way that these institutions have behaved since the CHEATS DEMISE. Have they not been the ones to be rubbishing football? Have they not been the ones talking the game down casting a doomed cloak over the game? Are they not the same institutions like the BBC that are constantly reminding everyone who will listen that the game without Sevco rangers is NOTHING?

This level of corruption and manipulation needs a top level investigation by MP’s and MSP’s as a matter of urgency. Otherwise Armageddon will be the preferred outcome regardless.

  • PaulThePostie says:

Where’s all the other clubs chairmen and fans, what are they being so quiet about, they got robbed blind by Ogilvie and co too. March to hampden park to publicise this corrupt to the core mob. Where’s Regan too and Doncaster and Salmond. Cheats still couldn’t match the hoops, god bless Fergus.

    • Eastside says:

The Clubs reelected him, it is literally unbelievable at times, the lack of respect shown to supporters is outrageous.

  • Neil says:

Absolutely disgraceful and once again we see the corruption and the shame of this on the whole of Scottish Football. I agree we need to march to tell them we are sick of this lot and get the lot of them out of Scottish Football for good! This newco that emerged out of oldco rangers ( currently in liquidation) are already looking to use another insolvency event to rid themselves of debt get points deducted and carry on. The mentality of their following is beyond comprehension. They actually believe they came out of administration via a CVA…if that wasn’t ridiculous enough there is ongoing battles to see who is going to rip them off less…this clearly shows corruption across the whole of Rangers old and new and a certain mr King with more criminal convictions than whyte is the new messia! Shame of Scotland

  • drawcab says:

Sometimes in a company or a gang a member survives and flourishes because they know too much.

  • Wulz88 says:

It was the fans of the clubs putting pressure on their boards, that got sevco dumped into D3. The authorities did everything they could to let them of Scot free. Lord Nimmo was every bit as bad as C.O. and his SFA friends. The brethren at every level in our society, will do everything possible to help them. If they do go into administration, don’t be surprised if they DON’T receive any harsh punishment. The Scottish media will start with their poor fans have suffered enough. Their just as bad as their brothers at the SFA !

  • Joe McHugh says:

Anti zombie software fished out this comment from ‘true-blue’

“what a load of shit! I see the tics still need to put their noses into Rangers affairs again and again and again you are all fixated with Rangers as all you`re forums show FACT, why dont you all admit the fact celtic fear Rangers coming back to the spl sfpl as Rangers will be there for the challenge from the very first whistle, 4 and no more walk overs !!!!”

It’s little wonder that Murray, Green, Whyte, Ahmed, Stockbridge, Laxey, Easdale etc etc have such an easy ride of things at Ibrox.

    • jimbo102 says:

Lol joe, that just about sums those inbreds up.
Falkirk look as if they are going to win the Championship with costs of £600K, Sevco are worried that in order to compete in the championship next season they’ll need £7M,
They just don’t realise how stupid they look to every football minded person outside zombieland.
To the tool you quoted joe, I’d just say to him”Stop giving us the ammunition then arshole”.
      Hail hail

      • peter says:

        Well said,Jimbo.

        They are sad,deluded and brain-dead.
Their cheating cost our club millions,so
we should be watching their every move
        closely.

        Re Falkirk,I heard heavy-hole Johnstone,
on mental phone-in last night try and
        defend your point,Jimbo.
He had a go at a Falkirk fan who pointed
this out.2’nd biggest player budget in the
country. Is it a wonder they have ran out
        of money.Buying success.
His childish reaction to the Falkirk fan
        was,we beat you 2 nil.When you have
mouth(arse)pieces like him broadcasting, their mentality really beggars believe.
