Keith Jackson twitterThe anger of BBC Sportsound favourite Keith Jackson exploded over twitter last night.

Jackson is best known as the chief football writer of the Daily Record but has become increasingly popular on BBC Sportsound particularly for his take on all matters Rangers/Sevco.

Joining twitter is a natural avenue for journalists to raise their profile and gives a valuable connection to supporters as well as being a great source of information.

Last week Jackson was able to run with the story of how the SPL were paying broadcasters to screen Sevco matches with twitter account Celtic Research unearthing the details of the deal.

Last night however twitter proved a bit too hot for Jackson who used language unlikely to be heard on the BBC as he got into an argument with an account called That Guy in Prague.

During a four way ‘conversation’ Jackson, using the twitter account tedermeatballs, suggested ‘one to one anytime’ to which That guy in Prague questioned ‘Are you actually offering me a fight Keith? This is beyond my wildest dreams’.

Most experienced twitter users would let that sort of argument hang in the air or block the user but Jackson wasn’t for walking away replying with ‘If that’s would solve mental issues I’m happy to resolve d***head. I don’t think you have the minerals.’

Among other comments Jackson suggested: ‘name a time and place so the twits can see me kick your ass’.

It’s likely that Jackson will be deleting a lot of comments when he logs in today but such is the power of the internet that those comments have been retweeted several times with screenshots capture.

Jackson has been highly critical of some of the PR tactics used in the Ibrox crisis and seemed ruffled by the anonymity of That guy in Prague.

The BBC seems to have a policy of encouraging contributors to use twitter to engage with audiences while maintaining the highest of standards, it seems that Jackson has a few lessons to learn on mastering social media.
