John BrownAlmost two years after delivering his legendary ‘wherez ra deedz’ speech, John Brown was back at Ibrox today.

Rather than warning of the dangers posed by Charles Green, Brown was at Ibrox to deliver a 7,000 strong petition aimed at securing the stadium for the cash strapped club.

The petition was organised by the sins of Struth fans group and attracted support from fans of various clubs throughout Scotland with many Celtic supporters adding their name.

Last Saturday the same group organised an equally pointless protest at Ibrox which ended with 300 fans squeezing postcards through a gap in the front door of the fabled Argyll House complex.

With Dave King keeping a low profile in South Africa Craig Houston has taken on the mantle of people’s champions and accompanied Brown for the delivery of the petition.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Record Houston said: “When we were discussing the possibility of having a season ticket trust back in February I thought if Rangers only sold 20,000 we would have had an effect.

“The low sales are not because of Sons of Struth or the Union of Fans. It’s because that’s what fans want.

“There are just over 7000 signatures but it is still running online so it will continue to creep up. This is just let the board know that the season is finished but we are not going away.

“If we need to spend our summer organising activities to put our point across that’s what we will do.

“People can argue the board are not listening to us but as a fan our only choice is to keep bawling and shouting.”

It’s believed that less than 10,000 full priced season tickets have been sold for the new season with question marks remaining over whether the club can reach the new season without going into administration.
