Kris Commons newsAfter hitting the 30 goal mark Kris Commons is ready to help out Anthony Stokes again!

Scotland’s Player of the Year handed over penalty duty to his team-mate last Sunday to allow the Irishman to complete a hat-trick against Inverness Caley Thistle.

After a three match goal ‘drought’ Commons was back on the scoresheet with a double against Aberdeen and is ready to weigh in his team-mate again.

“Absolutely loved today’s atmosphere. Great for @stoksey10 to reach the 20 mark! ???? may start passing to him more now I’m on 30,” Commons tweeted.

Earlier Stokes had tweeted: “Great performance today! Great for @kcommons15 to hit the 30 goal mark and I was delighted to score my 20th league goal of the season!”

After five months trying to find a way of replacing the goals of Gary Hooper it seems that Neil Lennon has found a winning formula in Stokes, Commons and Leigh Griffiths.

Since the league split in two Celtic have netted 14 goals in three matches as they chase the 100 points mark.

With 95 points and 96 goals the hoops are on course to finish the season in style as they prepare to meet the Scottish Cup finalists, St Johnstone and Dundee United.

Looking forward to the remaining matches Lennon said: “We just want to finish the season strongly and we are doing that, along with putting a marker down to the rest of the teams to show we have a very good team here.

“We want to get stronger and we have done so as the second half of the season has progressed. I’ve been really pleased with the players that have come in and we are starting to look a good side.”
