Ronny Deila has spoken out about the possibility of becoming Celtic’s next manager.

Tonight Stromsgodset were in action away to Tromsdalen in the Norwegian Cup with all of the local media attention centered on Deila.

While giving nothing away specifically about Celtic the Stromgodset coach was happy to discuss his ambitions to work outside Norway.

Asked about managing Celtic he told TV2:”It is possible. There is also speculation, but I have always said that I have a dream. Now is not the right day to talk about being a coach internationally, but we’ll see when the time comes.”

Some Norwegian sources are claiming that a deal has already been done to take the 38-year-old to Glasgow.

Deila’s agent Tore Pedersen was at Celtic today as the move gathered pace to find a replacement for Neil Lennon.

Henrik Larsson, Owen Coyle and Roy Keane have all been heavily backed to take over as manager but it now seems certain that Deila will take over before the end of the week.

A deal between Stromgodset and Celtic would have to be agreed but that is unlikely to prove a stumbling block with relations good between the clubs following the January transfer of Stefan Johansen.

Deila could find himself returning to Norway for his first match in charge of Celtic with Stromgodset one of the unseeded teams in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

Celtic return for pre-season training on June 24 before heading to a training camp in Austria ahead of their Champions League qualifiers in mid July.
